this school is very bad they dont treat you well they dont care about your mental health

The student leaders in the 2023 year 11 are all fabulous people- helpful, hardworking and clever.

In my experience, springwest has provided an excellent education in comparison to other schools in the local area. Unlike most schools, the post-16 support provided is extremely helpful and ensures you have a plan even if you're not certain about your future. The management is also very hardworking, if there is ever an issue regarding the school they are quick to act on it. They are continuing to implement improvements every day based off of student responses. Aswell as the teachers themselves, who do a brilliant job and are always helpful.

This school is utterly disgusting. Horrible. First of all let's start with the absolute abuse of teachers that don't punish fairly :

There are boys and girls who can actively shout across the classroom using inappropriate language and others. Putting down students trying to get a laugh out of stupid people. The teachers do NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They can call a child fat and ugly, Slurs and more and the teacher won't pay any attention to them at all. No punishments. A warning or two at most.while if a student is cold and wearing a coat due to the windows being open and the crappy rip off uniform not keeping them warm they get warnings and if they refuse they get a detention. Or when forgetting to bring the right stationary to school one day of the week. Detention. Even if stably bringing everything in on other days. I thinks it's stupid

children who have come out are called f slurs openly by other students and are bullied and picked on for being homosexual. Transgender students get misgendered by students and teachers who are aware of a students identity. It's overall hard to come out as they make a big deal out of it. Please if there would be a way for students to come out? Like a website where they can put their deadname and what they would like ot be called and their preferred pronouns that would send a message to the teachers to start calling them that. It would put less stress onto differently identifying students if teachers just started using their correct name and pronouns. I also think any type of intentional transphobia or homophobia should be punishable by detentions and warning.

This school has a horrible bullying problem. Nothing. Absolutely nothing is done about bullying or HARRASSMENT WHICH IS A CRIME. I WAS INFORMED BY MY PEERS THAT THERE WAS A CHILD WHO WAS RECEIVING DEATH THREATS. WAS BEING STALKED AND SURROUNDED BY A GROUP OF STUDENTS WHO TRIED TO PHYSICALLY HURT HIM FOR NOTHING. AND THE SCHOOL DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THEY SAID TO GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE THATS WHERE THEY WERE RECEIVING THE NON FACE TO FACE THREATS. WHAT THE HELL. THE STUDENT WHO WAS THE MAIN HARRASSER SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPELLED AND HAD THAT ON THEIR RECORD.

The education is also horrible with how classrooms are set and the lessons being too fast and topics not covered enough. It's also stressful when the students who i mentioned before that do not get punished disturb class.


Edit: this school only gets worse.

Child of a friend of mine has been chased home by children with a knife, starting on school grounds where noone helped him nor called the police while this happened.

More children have been attacked, i got in contact with the mother of the child who i mentioned was reciving death threats beforehand and that same child was physically and aggressively assulted by another child and the school did nothing.

This is the worst school I've ever seen.

If we talk about bathrooms and hygiene you may now know that there is no toilet paper in the girls bathrooms nor are there tissues or working locks, doors open inwards and if anyone who's not supposed to be thete was to get into a stall to do anything to a girl, there would be no way to remove them or escape.

Like these other reviews say, truly bad school, really do care about pay checks more than students, their well-being or anything else

As starting in this school it started of awful due to being pushed around by older years and teachers doing nothing along the years . we get detentions for only being 3 minutes late even tho the corridors are being swarmed by students in a small corridors . not being allowed to wear hats or jackets-hoodies outside in the cold and they never turn on the heating on by the radiators . But when we do have detention they never tell our parents if we have do and our parents start searching for us for 20 minutes until we come outside school . Not a lot of encouragement in lessons or help .

The school is pretty good however the school rules are sometimes a bit much they say they are all about expressing yourself being who you are yet you cant wear piercings your hair cant be dyed you cant wear accessories you cant wear a hoodie like at lunchtime and break I get why you wouldn't wear a hoodie inside during class we already wear full school uniform so I dont get why we cant have this to show who we are it makes me feel like I'm hiding my true self and I dont like that feeling. Lunch time queues are so annoying everybody shouts yells pushes in and the teachers are either oblivious to what's going on or they are blind
