I had quite a good experience here despite some drama. However, the P.E teacher was terrible and very obviously favoured some students over others as he often chose the more athletic students to demonstrate things rather than students who don't partake in sports clubs and are less athletic. It's slightly discriminatory and it always felt unfair, especially because I was one of the less athletic kids but I still tried my best in P.E.
It's changed a lot since I went there, especially because they added a lot of equipment to the playground after I left (I've visited there a couple of times since my younger brother currently goes there). Overall, I had a pretty decent experience apart from minor bullying (I get bullied way more in secondary) and some drama that happened in my friend group.
I used to go here and now my kids do good school but has some cons.Exp my child used out of class to speak to the school “therapist” and gets told that she will be pulled out of class once every week and will get put on a list so they wont “forget”. As you can imagine me and my partner was happy that are child had the support she needed. That changed quickly when are child came to us repetitively saying how the school therapist keeps on talking about the list always forgeting that she has already told my kid about my kid about the list.To add to this the therapist rarely sees my kid.To end this paragraph the p.e teacher had said said comments infront of my child to their athletic mate saying “___ you’ve got to get better friends mate”.Southwater junior academy has change a lot since i was there it seems like a whole different school.
Hands down the best primary school I went to when I was younger. I loved the teachers and the fact that they had a coding club and Minecraft club. Learnt so much here. It was generally just a positive environment.
