P.S:
I am writing to bring to your attention some concerning issues regarding the safety and well-being of students at Sirius Academy West.
Recent incidents at the school have raised serious alarms regarding the safety of students. Reports of frequent attacks and aggression towards students, coupled with a lack of appropriate action from teachers, are deeply troubling. Furthermore, it is disheartening to hear that perpetrators seem to be more protected than their victims, creating an unsafe environment for those attending the school.
The fact that law enforcement is reportedly called to the school up to 15 times per week is a clear indication of the severity of the situation. It is evident that immediate and comprehensive measures need to be taken to address these issues and ensure the safety of all students.
In light of these concerns, I strongly urge parents and guardians to consider alternative options for their children's education. It is essential to prioritize the safety and well-being of students above all else, and it is clear that Sirius Academy West is currently failing in this regard.
I encourage you to take proactive steps to ensure the safety and security of your child by exploring alternative educational opportunities where their well-being is safeguarded.
Absolutely horrendous. Can't believe parents actually send their child here. Fights. Bullying no stop. Horrible staff. There was even a video of a staff PUSHING a student. If I had to rank schools from best to worst, it wouldn't be on the ranking it is that bad. 100% do NOT recommend worst school in history
if i could give a 0, i would. they do absolutely nothing about bullying or anything. they are also extremely hypocritical. they tell us "only wear single stud ear piercings" and theres teachers with full ears of earing and stuff that students cant have done. its pathetic. this school deserves to be shut down. its horrible. the halls sometimes smell of weed. get a grip. its no wonder the reviews are so low.
Honestly rubbish school they only care about attendance and not mental health. If you are sick they won't let u leave. If u don't finish work bc u don't know it they give u detention to finish it. Horrible school should be closed down
Apart from some teachers being a bit horrible, most are alright and some even really kind! This is a great school. The way things are taught are clear, teachers help and mental health support is given. What I think you could improve on tho is the detention system. For example, if late, 30 minutes instead of one hour. It’s your choice tho and again great school!
The school doesn’t care about anything but money. I suffer with anxiety, and i was having an extremely tough week, went to safe guarding (the teachers that are supposed to support and help you) in which they told me i sound like a baby having a tantrum. Every single time i think about going in to that school i feel like tearing up. They need to realise respect and fear is different. I get the bus to school and i’ve witnessed year 7s and 8s crying because they’ve accidentally left a pencil at home, because they know they’ll get an hour detention and get into trouble. If that’s the sort of environment that this school presents then it should not be a school anymore. Kids go in everyday stressed and anxious because of how strict this school is becoming. A teacher has said to me before, ‘ I don’t care if you want to listen because i don’t care if you fail, i’m still getting paid.” Proof the staff and teachers do not care. This school is awful. We are there to learn, it’s not a prison, so stop treating us like prisoners. Focus more on your students, their education and how they’re doing instead of how much money is going into your bank accounts.
This school sends out texts to parents threatening them with fines because their child attendance is less than 90% . They don't use common sense in ringing up the parent to see if there are any concerns. No they send a text at 455pm so that you can't ring them back same day. They don't answer calls so you leave a voicemail but they don't ring you back. Admin come across as non caring individuals. Poor excuse of a school and not recommended
This school does not care for the children. They are more focused on the reputation of the school and appearance of the children rather than their mental state and ability to do work within that poor mindset. The priorities are utterly disgraceful, they are more focussed on rings, piercings and appearance over their education and mental well-being. The children of this school are suffering from pressure of the schools expectations, yet when they are told they have support the school disregards this problem. There are teachers who actually help the children mentally and educationally, however the number is limited.
Can be quite good as a school support kids mental health in the right way. Helps with bullying most of the time. The things you get a detention for is stupid. But overall it’s a good school no matter what anyone says.
I highly do not recommend sending your kids here or going here yourself. The ignorance in this school has topped all others I have gone to regarding both staff and students. Teachers refuse to truly punish bullies as most of them give the school a good name by excelling in sports or business, they ignore students who are struggling with mental health and home troubles and actually punish or give up on them most of the time. Most teachers watch kids get bullied and say next to nothing as the bullies are a laugh in the classroom, its clear favouritism. They don't care who you harass as long as your attendance and grades are good or you're funny and entertaining to the staff. They claim to have a therapist and there are literally about a hundred kids seeing them or more but they're actually a school nurse swamped with kids who are suicidal or aggressive while not really being fairly equipped to deal with most of them. Not to mention they went through three head teachers in the time I was there (3 years) and each time they quit purely because nobody knows how to handle the kids there. The headteacher that was there when I left (and is still there I think) resorted to banning everything including access to certain floors in attempt to control a problem that is never going to be fixed until they stop understaffing a 1000+ student school yet that will surely not happen as this 48 million worth building is clearly just a money machine getting everything they can from the students and their families through overpriced uniforms and small yet expensive meals. Do not send your kids here. Before I joined this high school I was attending a school that required police in the cafeteria and on the paths home as the students were said to be so disruptive yet the teachers still had time to do their job for each student and it was still less of a mess to attend than Sirius west.
Don’t go here. They claim to the best but it’s a complete lie, it’s literally like a dictatorship. If you’re not a favourite, they won’t help you in any way. If you’re not “an ideal student” you’re basically at the bottom of the “school hierarchy”.
