When I was there they were good at teaching but when it came to the students mental health they said they care but they never did anything about it and when it comes to people's sexual orientation they were t quite excepting (quite sexist).
I'm a former srudent and i have aldoheard alot from older former students of this school, so these are my experiences with this school.
1.
Unecassary punishment
A student got put into inclusion due to their trousers being "too short". Inclusion is where the student has to go into a room with a staff member at breaktimes and lunchtimes to miss out on them. The student was even embarrased infront of a class for their ankles being visible. This was only because they had just stood up from their seat to leave and find their work book.
During the inclusion, they were constantly told to buy new ones. At the time, their mum was actually trying to find some but just wasn't able to because there were none in their size in stock and their mum just didn't really have much money at the time.
The student skipped inclusion a couple of times because they thought it was ridiculous and just wanted to see their friends and do what kids do. They were then put into isolation for an afternoon.
While their mum was trying to look for trousers, the school insisted that they wear a skirt. They constantly stated that they were uncomfortable with this but were ignored. The school provided them with tights and were surprised when they didn't show up in a skirt the next day.
They have also given negative points for sneezing in a quiet class.
2.
Shaming students
Students are constantly called idiots and stupid by staff. One time, a student wanted to get their work book as they were required to complete a task referencing the poem they had studied for a week or so. The teacher in charge at the time told them that they should know it from memory and when the student stated they don't really remember anything from it, they were called an stupid and ridiculous. Again, in front of the entire class.
3.
Racism
A black student attended school. Their hair cut was just their natural hair and they were told it was "inappropriate" and "distracting" and were forced to shave it. This was their NATURAL hair.
4.
Homophobia
During a sports day one year, a group of students bought in pride flags as picnic blankets. They were absolutely not waving them about, putting them in your face or anything of the sort. Some of them had wrapped them around themselves as blankets, as some others had done that with their normal blankets, their patterned blankets, their blankets with characters on them from shows like despicable me.
Some staff even complimented their flags.
Two members of staff who I won't name told them to put them away or use them strictly on the ground and out of the way or they will be consfiscated. They found any excuse the tell them off about the pride flags.
comes to bullying, but especially when it involved lgbt people.
5.
Terrible staff
The staff are awful. Most staff. They are even awful to eachother, the deputy head especially. All of the PE staff are awful, they have talked bad about students behind their backs with staff and even to other students!
Most staff are very lazy and just hand out textbooks or putting on video clips. Some are too lazy to explain when a student is stuck and tells other students to help them when they are also trying to work. They can also be extremely impatient when a student is stuck. Lessons are long and boring because of this.
Some other staff can never control the class and others are stupidly strict.
6.
Mental health
The way they handle mental health depends on which staff member handles
This school is so sexist. Boys get so many sporting and educational opportunities compared to girls. Only the girls have a dress code and it is so old fashioned i mean we have to keep are ankles covered because they’re “distracting” you can only have one piercing in your bottom lobe. I have my helix pierced it’s a really small stud and it’s unnoticeable my teacher found out I had it and made me put a huge plaster over it because it was ruining the image of the school and effecting mine and others learning. How can a small earring do all that and the huge plaster made it even more noticeable and made me look stupid. Don’t even get me started on going to the bathroom. No one is allowed not even girls my friend had to go home and change because the teacher wouldn’t let her go to the bathroom and I guess you can understand what happened next. The bottom line of this is is not to go to this school and to tell others not to go to this school.
This school is terrible. For one the school is rotting and going mouldy and it absolutely stinks. They put money they get towards sports which its obvious that is the only thing they care about. They do not care for their pupils they only care about the school uniform . Bullying is said to not be tolerated but its a huge problem. The school staff are fatphobic, homophobic and racist. There is no diversity.
The teachers are rude to the students. They are lazy and shout at every child for nothing. Fir example mu friend got a detention for sneezing. This school in general is terrible and most of the teachers need firing.
absolutely terrible school, the staff are horrible to their students and some staff have done illegal things including tampering with legal paperwork. they claim to welcome all student who struggle with any problems mentally or physically, this is a lie, all they care about is their reputation. they have 1 lift to an upper floor which is not allowed to be used by students as it is packed with boxes used as a storage room. they kicked a year 7 out once for wearing a hijjab when they told her she wasnt allowed too! they never use the heating so all year round it is freezing in the mouldy decaying classrooms. they care more about the uniform being perfect than the students education. most teachers hardly teach anything because their are either too busy telling you their life story or they just make you work for a textbook because they are lazy or they just want to scream at kids they hate all lesson.
at lunches and breaks you will find kids in corners smoking and selling/ taking drugs. the food makes kids ill and the drinks in the vending machine must be about 10 years old.
they allow boys and girls to hold hand etc but the second a 2 girls or 2 boys are near each other like that they will go insane.
any time they get funding/ money they immediately spend it on new sports equipment they don’t need. also p.e lessons, they will make kids be outside in thin leggings/ shorts/ skirts in all weathers; scorching heat, snow storm, pouring rain etc.
