Absolutely brilliant school. Fully recommended, the staff can't do enough for the kids, all my kids have loved/love their journey through shooters grove. My eldest has just gone to y7 and her whole year group cried because they didn't want to leave. My youngest will be coming to nursery when big enough, I found the nursery really brought my kids out of their shell and built their confidence. Can't praise the school enough.
Shooters is not a good school because I have had quite a horrible experience, however there were some nice teachers.I was bullied since Y2-Y5(the year I left to later join a different school)up to the point I was stabbed in the head with sharp cutlery, and the headteacher did nothing.
I'd opt for no stars if I could.
The head is in too deep, incapable of controlling her staff. Absolutely diabolical behaviour from staff towards pupils. Allows bullying, racism and neglect.
Refuses to meet the needs to sen pupils with some TA and 1:1 support staff talking to the kids as of they are dogs.
Pupils are unruly, rude and act like they won't be reprimanded. The building is a disaster, bees nests in window panels. Faulty electrical sockets, broken equipment. Windows that don't close.
Safeguarding does not exist re confidentiality, office staff can be heard on the phone with support staff talking open about students with problems at home. Paperwork left about to be found with students names on. The staff love social media and spend too many school hours posting photos and not enough time teaching/supervising. Attendance is priority over health and wellbeing. Staff have favourites and pupils suffer and are ignored, same for pupil premium children being treated like they are worthless. Staff are seen on phones on lunch duty and during lessons. When staff get confidential emails it comes through to the class white board! For all students to see. I would not recommend this school. MY CHILDREN would not recommend this school. So glad they got out! Chair of Governors is bffs with the head so diddly gets done. They fail to follow LA rules.
