If I'm being honest, this school is so dysfunctional; so many teachers clearly favourite students, none of the staff (including the head of years and headteacher) do anything to stop the rampant racism and homophobia that is present 24/7, and it genuinely feels like an unsafe environment at times. Additionally, more often than not, small actions are punished with typically unfair consequences - i.e. if another student attempts to start a fight, they are not the only one to be reprimanded (normally by being sent to INEX). Staff do absolutely nothing to fix this and are instead more focused on forcing all of their students to conform to the exact same set of constricting rules, not allowing anybody to express themselves and, if they someone does try to and ends up being bullied as a result, they simply push the bullying under the rug, offer no support/help, and continue to push the code about having a 'smart appearance'. No matter where you are in either of the school's buildings, there is constantly a sense of fear of being the next one dragged into a fight or wrongfully told off by a teacher. My one and only suggestion: do better! Actually communicate with the students like people rather than demeaning them to being nothing other than your subordinates.
Good school but teachers don't know how to control the classes and therefore students interrupt others from learning. Homework that's set is stupid because you just copy out of a book 📖 and detentions for lateness are awful because someone could be 15 minutes late and get an hour after school but someone 3 hours late gets the same hour after school. They care more about appearance and uniform than education until you get to year 11 with your gcse round the corner but overall I would recommend it 👌
Some students are nice.
You get bullies no matter where you go.
Lovely class rooms, (Well the older building, E block, is a bit full. Makes you sleepy).
Most teachers are polite and helpful and full of joy around the students to help keep everyone happy.
Nice Library. Fairly good variation of books.
You get set homework everyday.
However the way the homework is done I am not too keen.
I do have bit of a complaint.
So many teachers are so soft on their students no wonder We come out learning nothing. It's because they couldn't control the volume in the class. The Drama teacher has very good standards. Everyone behaves well for her. Perhaps some teachers could learn from her.
it sucks i mean our year 9 head of year is nice but the teachers don’t care and ignore your problems our lessons are out of control sometimes it’s not a good environment for learning
