I went here for 5 years and some of the teachers were horrible towards students. The first headteacher I had there told me and the entire year group that we were all failures and a disgrace to our families. Also, I 100% would not recommend this school if you are someone of race as one of the students who was a few years below left because they were receiving racist abuse and the teachers did nothing about it.
Dont go here if your looking for secondary schools
At the moment im in yr9 and i'm hating it! For our assessments they are making us sit in the hall this year with the GSCE precautions. There are three things that are keeping me going at this damn school: my dad (who works there), my best friend and the very few nice teachers. They are always short staffed but always say they are over staffed. For example, an IT teacher is teaching RE, IT, PSHE, and geography! At the end of last year, the best teachers left because it was too much and we were left with very few nice teachers. Our old head also randomly quit without telling any of us and we had no head for the rest of the year.
Bullying is another MAJOR issue at my school. Someone who i know was bulling one of my friends so i told a teacher what was happening and that seating plans would have to be changed since they sit next to eachother in lots of lessons. She said she would sort it but nothing changed. My friend continued to get bullied until i snapped and told a higher up SLT. Finally we got the bully to stop but then surprise surprise it was my turn. She spread a rumor about me that i was saying the]at one of the teachers deserved to get cheated on by her fiancé (my teacher from primary cheated on his fiancé and when i went to secondary she was my teacher (i loved her but she left)). Honestly i was p**sed!
Crap school, bullying, staff issues, isolation is the most painful thing ever (sit there all day and cant go outside), i want to leave this damn school.
ISTG WE AINT EVEN ALLOWED ON THE DAMN FIELD AND WE HAVNT BEEN FOR 2 YEARS!!!!
Horrible bullying problem. I suffer from mental health issues and so I was allowed to drop two subjects, which would be a plus, but they still had me sit the exams for one of those subjects. surprise surprise I got a U. There are some nice teachers who will support you when you feel low, but in the end this school is not the place for anyone
i get bullied here, and the teachers do nothing about it my mam phones in schools sometimes for a meeting about this but all they say is their busy but you see parents go and and they get a meeting straight away. i get bullied by girls who are miss jacksons favourite so she does nothing about it
not good for your mental health, they don't care if you report a situation nor if your parents do. they'll only care if it's one of their favourites, if your in an argument with someone they take one persons side and stick with it and then your known as a bully by teachers.
they don't like when the students prove them wrong or prove a point, they expect us kids to sit down whilst they disrespect us, the isolation room is always full and most the time the students don't even do anything, whilst your in isolation you have to eat only a sandwich unless your on packed lunches, you can't talk or go outside, the only time your aloud out the room is when you ask for the toilet which doesn't help because half the time they say in five minutes or no because you shouldn't be going in lesson times anyways. they constantly pick on certain students and leave the rest alone.
The culture of the school is extremely worrying, they shout n ball at you for having an opinion or needing to go to the toilet which they lock during all classes. The isolation reflection room used to hold about 8, now they have to open the hall as theres so many children being sent unnecessarily to isolation. They don’t want to listen to you and speak to you with little care, they are a few good teachers but the majority are unsupportive and stressed and the head has a hit list targeting certain children. They offer no encouragement and many of the supportive teachers have sadly left.
Please give careful consideration if you are thinking of sending your child.
I’ve only just left this school and i’m honestly so happy to say i don’t need to go back. I was there for 5 years and them 5 years were absolute torture, the school is full of bullies, including the teachers. They make you feel like your going to fail in life and get nowhere, they have told me on many occasions i’m going to fail my gcses and have no faith in me which then led to me not believing in myself and giving up. The head teacher is awful to the students and when i tried to go into school on the last say to say bye to everybody and the teachers he didn’t let me go in, he never told me the time to go to the field opposite when everyone was getting there shirts signed so i missed out on that aswell. The teachers don’t listen to you, they constantly belittle you and worst of all they don’t actually care about your education they just act like they do, but in reality they just do it for the reputation of the school. Being in sacred heart secondary school made me feel like rubbish, it was a struggle to get up and go in everyday knowing i was going to get screamed at over something pathetic and pointless. You can go to a member of staff and talk to them about your problems and how your feeling and they don’t act upon it as they don’t care. On many occasions i’ve had to write down how the school have treated me and dealt with problems and the way they do that is absolutely disgusting, they scream in your face and don’t let you get a word in to actually explain your side of the story, because it’s always the teachers who are right. If anyone is wanting to send their child to sacred heart i highly recommend you think twice.
