Teach good morals and school is decent but the teachers aren’t the best detention system is messed up and a male teacher stands in the girls toilets 😂😂
awfully mid. i’m in yr 8 and made a bad reputation for myself even though i do well in every one of my lessons and am one of the best at these subjects but just because i cant focus and talk the teachers treat me differently. i do not recommend this school at all as i am looking to move and the reason i havent yet is due to my friends.
absolutely disgusting school, couldn’t care less about racism do not have anything to make a child want to go to school, teachers are moody, teachers always shouting, too strict on kids, never have heating
This school has no good ways of dealing with mental health, doesn't deal with disruptive students well, food lack variety, and is extremely overpriced, for example a small bottle of Radnor fizz is £1.10. free school meals are only valid at lunch, and you only get £2.35, which is not enough, you only get a small carton drink, and a sandwich (£2.00), if you choose a pot of food (the main meal of the day), for example pasta, it's texture is odd, and very watery. they are not well accounted for vegetarians, vegans, lactose intolerant, allergies, ect. my friend who is vegetarian, asked for a pot of chips without the chicken, and the catering team refused to sell it without chicken. Another issue is that if you want to buy food but have no money in your account, you cannot buy anything ( AT ALL!!! ) until you have added more money on. the counciling system is terrible, and many students feel they cannot talk to many safeguarding leader, due to how they act around school, and make the students worry more about things they shouldn't, fer example: uniform, which some people may not be able to afford the right uniform, or homework, which people with and mental health may struggle to complete. they also cannot deal with people who are struggling with gender dysphoria. one of my friends is now in homeschooling, due to how horrible the treatment was when he asked the school for help with his dysphoria, they did nothing, even though they promised to help him. many students are getting away with harrassing other students, as many teacher play it off, or students feel they do not have anyone to talk to about this. we are having constant reminders that the safeguarding team is there, but they hardly ever do anything to help students, and make out that the know what to when a student comes to them about something serious, however they then play it off, as if it's a minor inconvenience to them. in the PE department, you HAVE to wear you PE kit, and contribute, even if you are very ill, or have a physical injury, and are struggling to move, and put uniform. the girls shorts are VERY short, and make many AFAB people not want to wear them, and they feel uncomfortable. also, in my year group (year 10) in the summer, we did inform sports, however in the winter (even if it's raining) we are doing outdoor sports.
Do not recommend going to this school especially if your a person of colour head teacher said n word infront of me and two of my other friends also excuses and targets black students for things they have not done
Honestly would give 0 stars if possible.
Attended rugby free secondary from years 8-11. The teachers treated us like their own children , screamed in our faces with profound language. Any Lqbtq supporting teachers where sacked and replaced with extremely homophobic ones who would purposefully call trans student their dead names and belittle them . I personally suffered with sexual assault within the school from other students and so did others. When bought up to the teachers they discouraged me from getting police involved or speaking about it and told me to push it aside and focus on work. I've never felt so small and they made me out to be a liar with something I still struggle with now. Bullying happens on a day to day basis and even when reported to the teachers they do not care and just disregard it no matter how bad it gets. Honestly your child would be better elsewhere unless you want them to leave this school feeling insecure , disgusting about themselves, suicidal and much more. This is not a school but a playground for student and teacher bully's.
The first year was ok. The staff couldn't care less about bullies and is absolutely terrible to students with mental health issues. Students were kicked out of the safe room, although these students hadnt done anything wrong, teachers couldn't care less about a student's mental health or there physical health issues all they want are the grades, and if youre not getting the grades they ignore you. I had also heard multiple teachers admit to giving up on certain students and a whole year due to them struggling.
Terrible SEN team I have been trying to get an EHCP for 4 years, the school doesn't allow students to express themselves in anyway whatsoever. Teachers don't care about students well being they only care about work. Do not recommend. Your child is better off somewhere else
Bullying is high, teachers are agressive and made students cry face to face. Staff have terrible communication skills with parents, students and eachother. There are students AND Teachers that aren't LGBTQ friendly, and aren't stopped. They recently made an Equality club, so that's a good start.
I dont really have much to say about this school as my experience is quite complicated. The school originally had a terrible Ofsted review however since then we have moved into a brand new building, had a new headteacher and overall had an incredible change in the way things are run. If you're looking for schools to send your child - I highly recommend this one as it's got great education, great teachers and great students. I should also mention we have an incredible SEN team that's much larger than most schools and they have supported me loads.
