People in my year are annoying. 3/10 of my teachers cant actually teach. School lunches are pretty bad in comparison to other school lunches ive seen. Co-curricular activities are quite good though, but very focused on sport
As what is supposed to be the premiere establishment for education in the north east it is quite poor. To fit in with this school you need to have raw academic intelligence, now I know that might seem obvious but myself along with a few others have less raw academic intelligence and are more intelligent in other areas. This them leads the staff to believe that you are struggling/not trying etc. Because of the huge number of very academically capable students, people like this stick out. Due to this the teachers put a huge amount of extra pressure on these students and because they may not be able to physically perform to that standard with the pressure being applied quite a few of those students lose their motivation incredibly quickly.
Also with all of those complaints the general atmosphere of the school isn’t great. Although there isn’t much violence there is a fair bit of bullying, drug dealing and it has a general racist atmosphere.
The teachers do very little to prevent this and try and make it seem like everything is absolutely fine.
On top of all of they really stifle free thinking, any entrepreneurialism and any form of individuality.
If you are a prospective parent thinking of sending your child here I do not recommend it.
If you are a student thinking of coming here do what you can to avoid it.
And as this will inevitably be found and passed to the senior leadership team. ;
Yes I know you will know immediately who wrote this
No I am not removing it
There is nothing you can do to make me remove it
academically it’s good but for advocating children’s mental health - not so good. Teachers done really do anything to help students in need who’ve reached out several times. Slightly racist evironment amongst students
Great school - both academically and socially. All staff are very professional and take joy in teaching both in and out of syllabus. There are also very strong sport and drama scenes at the school. Really enjoyed my time here, and thoroughly recommend.
