worst school ever, parents if you care about the well-being of your children (specifically female children) then don’t send them to this school. The skirts look like picnic blankets. I look like i’m about to start playing the bagpipes. I look like a scottish MAN! Not to mention the unbearable length of these skirts. In the summer it is HELL! They are so thick and long and we aren’t allowed to roll them even the smallest bit or it’s an immediate detention. If your child struggles with memory issues, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!! The teachers have no mercy, if you forget to do your homework due to a genuine memory problem?? They don’t care!! If you forget to do a detention due to a memory problem?? They don’t care!! You get punishment after punishment. Not to mention all the teachers having an insane superiority complex, they do absolutely anything they want but when we do one small thing out of line we get punished. Aren’t they supposed to be setting an example??? I wish I went to ANY other school. It’s horrendous. The reputation of our school is ruined because of these skirts also, whenever i say “i go to redmoor” the first (and ONLY) response is “your uniform is awful.” AND I AGREE!!! WHY they changed it we will never know. It is disgusting, worst school in hinckley.
Teachers do not at all care about students and they allow bullying to happen and even allow students to threaten other students. When this is mentioned to teacher they do nothing. Teachers also give out deterioration if you breathe weirdly. This school is awful and deserves to be knocked down. Teachers bully students leading to students having severe mental health problems which the school completely disregards and blames the student for being to sensitive instead of betting them help.
My child loves this school however there is no dance club whatsoever. They are a keen dancer and would love to have that opportunity so they can be a professional dancer and go to dance collage.
I left Redmoor just over a year ago now and I honestly miss the place so much. I had a really good experience there with the teachers and subjects, every teacher was so friendly and helpful for me, I couldn't thank them enough. My English Literature teacher really inspired me and help my grade go from a 4 at the end of Yr9 to getting a 9 in my final Yr11 assessments, I'm now studying both English Lit and Language at A level and plan to carry on the subject into university. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be where I am today. Even the subjects I wasn't so good at were still enjoyable thanks to the teachers. I don't have anything bad to say about my experience at Redmoor, I was always supported and helped by my tutor and subject teachers when I was struggling not just academically but mentally too, which I really appreciated. I have lots of happy memories, the school makes an effort to develop our life experiences not just our academic skills, particularly my residential trip to France will be something I look back on fondly. Lessons are fun and informative rather than mundane and boring. I particularly remember one history lesson where we started studying highway men and my teacher greeted my class by playing Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants. Teachers do really care about their students and want them to succeed. I loved learning a range of subjects, lessons were always enjoyable and I always felt like I learnt something from every lesson. Their teaching style is the best I've had. I still miss attending Redmoor, I will always look back on my high school life with fondness, they helped me develop into the best person I could be. This school really goes above and beyond.
I have just left from Redmoor and it is safe to say it was one of the best 5 years of my life. From the students to the teachers everything was amazing. Don’t get me wrong they weren’t the ‘perfect’ school but nothing is ever perfect. Any problems I had they helped sort them out. All teachers were approachable and helped me get to my GCSE grades. 100% recommend sending your child here. They are able to adapt to your child’s need and circumstances as well as provide additional support. I would do anything to go back and relive those last moments on the last day.
honestly, i go to this school rn and as much as i complain and give a couple teachers a hard time (only in return when they do) it’s brilliant. my confidence has excelled and the teachers care so much about their students. my only complaints are that sometimes teaches are insensitive to the workload from other subjects too as well as theirs and the toilets are usually blocked by students (although the cleaners are incredible and work so hard to keep them nice for us- thankyou!)
if you’re thinking about sending your child here, i would. i’m in year 11 so leaving next year and i’ve had many different experiences, but for the most part it is an excellent school and deserved to be held to such standard.
An amazing school staff are brilliant and staff are so supportive. The way they have handled the pandemic is amazing and done so well I’m keeping everyone safe. The support system is amazing and the different non teaching staff are brilliant especially the behaviour teams.
