disgraceful school- do not recommend to ANYONE!

Absolutely horrified by the state of this school. absolutely disgusting. The way the treat kids is quite frankly unacceptable and so de humanising. The head teachers change about every year and they do not get better, they get worse. They don't listen to the kid's concerns or even parents, they push everything under the rug and only care about the reputation of the school and how they look from the outside. But once you have a child at this school you will know what really goes on. Kids are out of control and majority of staff have little to no experience with children with ASD or any special need. Staff has physical holds/restraints for a punishment more than a safety measure. It happens over and over again to the point where an investigation took place. The education is appalling, and they don't learn much with the non qualified teachers. Some have no clue how to handle a class of 8 kids!!! shocking! My child was made to feel like a 3 year old rather than a teenager that they are. Would not recommend this school to any parent who cares about there child and their well fair and education. i except a lot more from a school of this sort.

not the best but an okay school

some things about the school are good such as staff who actually care for the kids and stick up for them. But there is definitely a lot bullying and staff putting children in restraints or as they call them “Holds” as a first reaction when something happens with a child. These restraints/holds are not done properly kids often get red marks/bruises,small cuts and emotional distress from how much force is being used. There is often fights between students. There was one incident of an altercation where a parent warned the school it would happen again,The school ignored the parent and the same thing happened the next day. Toilets are mostly locked all day unless a pupil asks for it to be unlocked,The staff unlock the toilets and stand directly outside the toilet which can cause anxiety for certain children. No phones, they take the phones off the kids in the morning and they aren’t given back till the end of the day this is unsafe as some children rely on speaking to parents or friends when they are feeling anxious or upset, Also on school trips phones are not allowed so no way to make contact if they are lost from the rest of the group. Education is often disrupted by other students or staff being called out the lessons often to deal with other children, so not a lot of consistence in the class rooms. To be honest theirs not much consistency throughout the school about pretty much anything that goes on.

Poor & no teacher security

Initially the school and teachers were positive in September 2021 year 3, until teachers kept leaving around October
2023, my child had three teachers within year 4 academic year and now two teacher changed in year 5, experiencing constant bullying for the from older pupils, it isn’t the place to build the next generation with needs.

Queensmead House School needs to get it together

Queensmead House School still has a lot of improvements to make, so think twice before sending you child with ASD ADHD or any other special need here. Toilets are locked constantly unless asked to unlocked, which is a no in most cases. causing a lot of distress to a child. kids not allowed access to phones all day and not alllwed them when they go off site. this can be a safety hazard, what if a child got lost from the group? absolutely no contact would be able to be made. The rules are confusing and constantly changing causing distress to children with special
needs as change is not easy. the way staff threaten and speak to the children is completely out of order and is affecting the children's mental health. We do not feel heard by any staff and no one listen to what we have to say. this has been voiced many times with no action from the school. there's no space ex common room, for kids to calm down in ect. considering this is a SEN school i would expect a lot more. I would not recommend Queensmead to anyone until they sort them selfs out.

Very bad do not recommend at all.

Awful . The children just do not get their needs met . Glass is everywhere. The kids are just out of control. There’s bullying going in constantly including sexual harassment, physical bullying abs online bullying and emotional bullying. It’s a trap. They lie to you. And the facilities are definitely not suited for children with autism adhd and/ or sensory issues.
