Honestly would rather have been homeschooled and live in solitude for the rest of my life than experience being here ever again!!!
The way this school deals with autistic children needs to be genuinely studied (not in a good way) and miss lane needs to be immediately put on some sort of training course for both speaking to children like human beings, and other staff members
Honestly only about 4 of the teachers
seem to care about students learning and the rest are far too invested in what jewelry or jumper you’ve decided to (horrifically) wear on the premises (it’s -45° outside) and thus end up with a majority of failed gcse results!
Ignoring this, you’d think there was no more issues at the school.. but you’re wrong!!!!
Bullying actually is never dealt with unless it gets to the point of being actually illegal and traumatizing purely because they don’t want police involvement and instead gets swept under the rug with a simple “we’ve had a chat with the people!!!” (they continue to bully and get away with it)
They also continually fail to employ decent teachers for their subjects (specifically chemistry) as after about 3 years of teachers leaving and substitutes being weirdly political and creepy, we finally have a new teacher who actually has done something other than make nasty remarks!
However, the teaching assistants at this school are absolutely wonderful and deserve the world and more, they do so much more for literally all the children over any of the main teachers combined, and they literally only work part time…
overall qehs is a bad school in my opinion and so much needs to be done to make it more accessible and nicer for students, teachers have no control, they all have favorites (the badly behaved kids for some reason?? idk where this saviors complex spawned for them because trust me, it hasn’t helped) causing others to fall behind and fail and then treat anyone who is not neurotypical like a genuine piece of gum on a shoe!!
none of the actual teachers/pastoral (minus mrs guiver) are capable of dealing with any child who isn’t a typical academic learner and it has severely impacted so many people at the school with their attendance and learning, who by the way, are yelled at and told off for when sitting in student services, a place meant to accommodate people who cannot cope with usual school environments !
would not recommend qehs for anyone who wants their child to do well, unless the only grade you want them to get is RE/Art as they seem the only good departments in the school - thank you miss bohan and miss gwilliam
ps. Mr Jones is excluded from this as he is genuinely amazing and iconic
The school is ok but definitely not flowers and rainbows. A few of the teachers definitely come across as stuck up their own arse, about half of the students act in a way that will make you want to puke into a bag and pour it into the water systems just to kill them off.
The toilets are horrible, not the teachers' fault but the students', who seem to think it's funny to shove a perfectly fine bacon and sausage baguette which costs £2.20 down the toilet. The teaching could definitely improve as I can only name about 5 teachers who actually make classes engaging (29 teachers in the school for reference). Not an overall terrible option but it wouldn't hurt to get your kids a bus to maybe a better school in herefordshire.
this schools not great if u wanna learn. teachers favourite the people who don’t do anything and they gossip about other students behind their backs, miss lane needs to put her high heels to rest as she’s given us all permanent migraines, the science department is awful, we haven’t had a proper teacher in months which resulted in them giving us substitutes who put their 2 brain cells together to put on a video about mitosis, the school smelt like piss half the time and the teachers need to stop looking up girls skirts, especially the male ones who think it’s funny to comment on how they can “see everything”. facilities r okay, even though they nabbed our toilet doors and said it was “normal” which it in fact wasn’t, the toilets are narrower then the french catacombs and usually there’s a vape shoved down them, wont pass my gcses due to the shocking teaching but miss bohans assortment of biscuits and cakes were legendary, best teacher.
I was here year 7-11 I came out with pretty good grades like Bs and Cs (which is a very uncommon occurrence in this school might I add) and I can NEVER recommend anyone this hellhole. The teachers were nice, they tried to help you learn in any way they can and the courses were adapted so all types of learners (visual/kinesthetic etc) could excel but the motivation of students is lacking, including mine at the time. Gifted students are pushed to the side to favour mediocre and lower-performing students. Staff can be argumentative - not the teachers - and incredibly rude at times especially Miss Lane. The recent Ofsted report I have never heard such bollocks before, bullying is NOT rare it is just swept under the rug. Hated getting the bus home. Most people from my year had to retake their GCSEs some of them multiple times. If you want your kids to do well academically but resent learning, send them here xx
It’s a not bad but not great, most teachers are unreasonable and rude, more concerned over girls skirts than our learning. Don’t seem to have control over pupils in certain situations. The facility’s arnt bad but toilets left in reasonably bad state a lot of the time. Cold a lot of the time as they don’t turn on the heating when necessary. But over all it isn’t a bad school, there are some very kind helpful teachers.
