Great school, especially for Portsmouth. Recommended.
Good school overall, thoroughly enjoying it, teachers are good and know what they're doing, most are easy to make a decent relationship with. Really good range of extracurriculars, all fun and make time at school much more exciting. Good food in the canteen, decent price. Lesson plans are fun. Only one problem, the kids, there are a lot of more chavvy kids, not the greatest behaviour but oh well, it's a Portsmouth school. Great for sporty kids as well as more acedemic kids with a wide range of options for everyone.
This is one of the worst schools. I'm still traumatised from my experience. Teachers are incompetent, and students are obnoxious and rude.
I was badly bullied and I was told by teachers that I was the one that had to go to be separated from the class. Nothing was done. There was one teacher, unfortunately, I cannot name on here but he shamed and abused me in front of everyone and I still remember it to this day. I went home that night and thought about committing myself.
I wish I had the confidence to have stood up to the staff and teachers here who treated me like a piece of trash. Please don't send your kids here.
Staff? Awful. Language department is holding on by a thread, most of the teachers are batty in some way. There’s a few which redeem them, mainly the art department. Excusing some…
Never seen such a bad handling of mental health, had someone I know on the “waiting list” for mental health support for their whole duration there and never got it.
The kids are funny in my experience, disruptive and problematic but so funny to watch if you’re normal. A lot of annoying ones though.
Teaching depends there’s some absolute gems and then there’s ones that’d probably be better off in a nursing home.
Bullying handling is god awful, I know multiple students who’ve been called hard r racial slurs and the strongest punishment I’ve seen is a day suspension, those are very few though and it’s quite a diverse school but still some sour idiots rear their heads.
Overall I say it’s pretty average for a Portsmouth school, arguably one of the best, lots of ups & downs, a mental rollercoaster.
