Teachers are mean, students are worse, the toilets are horrifying
I got sa’d here for the first and hopefully last time in my life. My whole year said i lied about it just because it was a ‘popular’ kid who did it, or bullied me and called me gay. School said that I should report anyone who makes fun or doesn’t believe me to them, but that didn’t help, and people threatened to get me jumped because ‘i’m a liar’.
My english teacher bullied me once in class and let the whole class laugh at me because i didn’t know the answer to an easy question, and now I don’t feel comfortable talking to any members of staff at all.
I have issues with my concentration which the school overlooks and says it’s my fault and I get ‘engagement in learning’ behaviour points even though there is nothing I can physically do in my power to help.
Toilets are incredibly poorly maintained. Some absolutely astonishing toilet issues follow.
Whole bottles of soap are regularly being wasted daily.
Someone had a poo in the urinal.
Someone got poo all over the toilet seat last year.
Students regularly boot in the stall doors that their mates are in shaking the all the doors too.
Almost all the lights are broken in there.
There’s normally urine all over the floor.
The main food place in the school, ‘The Hub’ (the new year 7s can’t get enough of that name) lines are EXTREMELY long and sometimes you can’t even get food at break without having to use up all your break time, and don’t get me started on the lines on ‘chip’ Fridays.
Teachers will hand out behaviour points if you are simply missing one piece of equipment (incredibly annoying when students steal each others’ equipment for the fun of it).
The school has an awful budget, they can’t afford books in different colours so all books are currently blue.
Almost all the students have an unfair social hierarchy. I know that can’t be held against the school, but the school sucks at making everyone feel equal. I’m constantly picked on for petty stuff and it really annoys me, as the hierarchy ranks me incredibly low due to being seen as abnormal by a lot.
Lessons are constantly interrupted by students who think that they are funny.
Lots of students are wannabe roadmen (gangsters), and think that school doesn’t matter and they will be a part of a gang. The school should be guiding them away from that future, but they don’t.
A girl in the school got a day of isolation because she smacked a racist and sexist boy in her year, telling her horrendous things. She should’ve been applauded in my opinion.
Staff are incapable of controlling students, there was a fight in a P.E. class which the teacher failed to sort out properly and could’ve ended horribly wrong had no other teachers come to aid, and a student who has done sa on school grounds before got appointed as a top level student council member.
TL;DR: School is absolutely dreadful in lots of ways.
I acctually hate Preston so much! Do not come to Preston school. The teachers always have something to complain about such as asking you to tuck in your shirt even if it’s 20degrees, and they are wearing shorts and T-shirt. Another thing they always complain about is skirts they always complain and say that it will distract the male teachers and the boys but it’s only the male teachers that look which is very pedo like. Every week you get set maths homework and English homework. For English homework you have to do sparx reader which is on the student portal you have to read for hours and answer questions until you get to 100%. For maths you get set sheets of homework. What I think is stupid is that you get set homework for silly lessons like drama and music which I don’t get the point in doing. For most homework’s you get set it online and they expect you to be able to print it even though most people don’t have a printer and if you tell any staff that then they say to print it at school but you have to use money on your fob for it. Another thing that I want to say is how DISGUSTING the food is at Preston. Cookies are stale. People find dead spiders and bugs in their food. Another thing is bathrooms. In the toilets there are mushrooms up the walls. They smell disgusting they smell if wee everywhere. Even if you just walk down the corridor it stinks. This is because the teachers can’t get off their lazy asses and buy some spray for the toilets. The only people they care about is the kids with special needs.!!!!!!WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE OR COMEEE TO PRESTON SCHOOL!!!!!! They make the school look good on open days but after a few weeks of going there you see the real Preston.
I hate it so much teachers don’t let you go to the toilet all the teachers just care about the uniform to tuck your shirt in un roll your skirt . And I have had people been horrible to me my mum rung up before and the school did nothing . And to much homework as well you have to knowledge builder every night and right words off a screen like honestly what is that going to do and then you get extra homework like pieces a week and I generally think it is to much and they could try to make the school a lot better than it is right now. Every day I dread coming to school . The only positive thing about this school is the food I enjoy the food and that’s it . I’am just warning you I don’t think it’s a good idea to come to this school. I can’t wait until I finish in this school .DON’TTTTTTTTTTT COMEEEEE TOOOO THISSSSSSSSSS SCHOOLLLLLL!!!!!
Students are pulling toilets off of the walls in the boys toilets, some doors of the toilets don't have locks on them and the school refuses to fix them, there's Nazi symbols burned into the toilet walls, ground is constantly covered in piss and you can smell it every time you walk past them, recently in the boys toilets someone or a group of students have pissed in all of the toilet roll holders. That's just the toilets, just today a year 7 was bodied by a year 10 and unable to get up for about 10 minutes whilst groups of students just watched him on the floor crying also students are constantly saying racial and homophobic slurs like it's normal and no one corrects them. Teachers don't seem to care much about the students and only complain about how we look, we aren't allowed tram lines in our hair and if we don't get it fixed right away we are out into isolation until we do also teachers will sit in the changing rooms mainly the girls ones whilst they get changed
Overall, great school. But horrible food. Found a DEAD SPIDER on my food. That's why I am writing. Had to have my food replaced and lunch lady's DIDNT APOLOGIZE! My mother is angry and my dad Is disappointed. I will now ask them to check my food before serving. APPAULING!
weird teachers
exclude people for 'inappropriate jewellery' on the spot and don't punish kids if they smoke a cigarette in school
they care more about their reputation then teaching kids
Little support for those not able to perform well academically
The academic support is decent and most teachers are willing to help and support students however there is very little pastoral support. I've seen people have to fight tooth and nail to see any support needs met as (although they have student support/safeguarding officers) their systems for support are not accessible to the general student population.
There is also an abelist school culture with attitudes such as "everyone can succeed if they try hard enough" being prevelant. They are fairly strict with school policy/rules and will give detentions out for things such as repeated lateness, missing homework, repeatedly missing equipment (from an extensive list that students must bring in themselves). I have not experienced this first hand but they do not deal with bullying well and prefer to sweep issues under the rug instead of deal with them (e.g. they appointed a guy to be a prefect despite multiple sexual harassment logs). Finally although they have a student suggestions box and a student council, input from students is mainly ignored and rarely ever implemented.

It’s okay. Probably made me into a slightly worse person overall but at least the teachers are nice. Idk was kinda mid, had some awful days but some good ones.
Decent school however terrible environment to be in if your not straight white cis and abled and the school does minimal to help students feel safe and free.
I have never had a proper issue with this school.
Student behaviour the best, but it’s the “norm” for most UK schools, I would definitely say I have heard worse.
Some teachers are amazing at their job, they make you feel somewhat supported and actually care about your success.
Preston is working towards making the school better and I support that.
Nothing made me happier than leaving the school after years of bullying and not receiving support. I was bullied from the very start of Year 7 and right through to the end of Year 11, I wasn’t really the sort of person to go to anyone for “support” and tried to manage everything myself , however I decided to go to my Head of Year to make them aware of what is going on and seeing what can be done about the bullying and absolutely… nothing . I managed to put up with it until Year 10 when things started getting quite bad , I seeked helped numerous times from teachers/support staff and was always told that the people would be spoken to , I would be moved away from those who are bullying me and that this “ would not be tolerated” and did any of this happen … no . I couldn’t go anywhere without feeling uncomfortable, the bullying carried on whilst I continued to seek support and it was just endless me trying to get this sorted and nothing happening and bearing in mind this went on for my whole time at school . I was so glad when I left as I’ve been so much happier away from those people who bullied me .
Mixed feelings about this school, like all schools some teachers were lovely and helpful and some just wanted to get paid for making students feel uncomfortable. The leadership staff reaction to racism and hate crimes were very poor but that’s expected when there was very very little diversity when I attended. Bullying “was not acceptable” yet handled terribly with most problems being ignored and not spoken out about. Results is the only thing they cared about after the Ofsted report with teachers not truly caring about their pupils and more worried about if they were going to have their jobs next year. Most teachers left when my year left due to personal reasons or due to affairs leading to divorce.
I hate it so much I don’t enjoy it the teachers are absolutely extremely horrid and nasty and the school smells of pee because they don’t clean the toilets properly and the classrooms have holes and drawings all over them and whenever you have a problem they don’t actually help and just shove you on and tell them to make up even when it could be deadly serious and the food is stale and the teachers always look for a problem and try look up your skirt and say that its too short and that it’s distracting the male teachers. Kids are horrible here too!
This school says its excellent and perfect but its not i was bullied the entire time i was there they did nothing about it they waste money on things that are useless in school and never surport people's mental health they have never done anything good lies about education students bathrooms have cameras in them the toilets are disgusting and smell thoughout the hallways especially around lunch and break times.
No students can contact their parents without permisson and they would have a teacher watch then lots of teachers make up lies about you even when your telling the truth the uniform has to be perfect since the school believes that clothing is important and students phones have to be silent thoughout the day but can easily be looked at in the bathroom stalls
Don't pick this school they never cared for anything but their own self extreme this school should be shut down
This school was always described as a “excellent performing” but it is not , the school is terrible . I was bullied for three years and the support with that was non - existent. I would speak to a teacher for them to pass it on to another teacher for then no action to be taken even though I would name the people doing the bullying . I never enjoyed class , because a lot of the fun was taken away due to the “silence is silence” you were not allowed any communication with anyone at all if you were in class unless you were doing pair work. The work wasn’t explained well, a lot of teachers when I asked them especially in maths , I asked if I could have help , I was then ignored and asked again to be told to research it by myself even though I did already , bearing in mind I was in year 11 . The support generally wasn’t really there , it wasn’t the students that was the priority it was just the grades and how the school looked . Ofsted , I was told to not say anything bad about the school if I was to be interviewed because I can be “too honest” . Teachers in core subjects weren’t there that much which delayed learning and you can’t ever forget anything because if you don’t have e.g. a rubber you get put into a lunch time detention . The school went down hill after the last Principal left and the evidence is there due to Ofsted rating from excellent all the way down to needs improvement two years in a row . In my opinion please don’t send your child here , especially if they have experienced bullying because the school don’t help at all and generally make it worse . Only send your child here if it your last option .
