Our son started Pollyannas in January 2022. At the start of the summer term 2022 there was a full change of staff and in our opinion Pollyannas improved dramatically.
When my son goes into preschool I know that he is safe and happy. All the staff know him well and make him feel confident. They interact with all the children and play with them throughout the day.
There is a massive range of activities set up on a daily basis from outside play to cooking and craft to dress up. My son particularly enjoys school in the woods where he learns a lot about nature and the local environment.
The above and beyond approach of the staff means that the children have enjoyed movie nights, parties, breakfast with Santa and the Easter Bunny and still have sports day and a teddy bears picnic to look forward to this term!
My son starts school in September and I feel that he could not have had been better prepared with the start he has had at Pollyannas. We really hope that Kelly and her team remain so our daughter gets the same excellent experience!
Pollyanna’s go above and beyond all expectations of preschool.
I previously sent my other son to Pollyannas, and decided to use this setting again simply because they are a fantastic team.
My son comes home full of excitement to tell me all about his fun filled day. The staff really know how to make learning fun and enjoyable. Creative activities, LOTS of cooking that the children then get to enjoy.
They use Tapestry to inform us of all “dates for your diary” and keep us regularly updated on how our son is getting on.
On arrival all the children are settled and ready to learn, with all the exciting activities set.
They plan events that include the whole family, breakfast with Santa, breakfast with the Easter bunny, movie evenings, Father’s Day mornings, mothers days mornings and much much more.
Previous review around the staff changes, or high staff turn over. I can honestly say all the changes around staff have been good changes.
Also in the same previous review around safety or the gate………simply not true. I drop my child and collect my child from a completely secure settling with a CLOSED gate and PADLOCKED.
Please if you are looking for a preschool Pollyannas is absolutely the preschool look at.
Thank you to Kelly, Katie, Sara, Alisha and Caitlin for the hard work and dedication you put in ti making pollyannas the best.
Pollyannas is an amazing setting and im glad i picked it for my child to attend. My daughter is happy to go and in and enjoys telling me about her day. They offer lots of incredible activities, like forest school, movie evenings, breakfast with santa and the easter bunny. Nice family feel to the setting, the girls really do go above and beyond to look after and care for your child. They do an amazing job with them and know them all so well.
To the review at the bottom, about the gate. This isnt true, the only time ive seen the gate open is in the mornings when the children are being dropped off. Once inside there is always a member of staff by the door, with other members of staff dotted around the room.
When i have picked my daughter up the door is always locked, along with the padlocked gate.
I come away knowing my child is safe, cared for and has the most fun at this wonderful setting.
My child is so happy to attend pollyannas and often asks to go! The teachers are brilliant at what they do. Lots of extra things going on, forest school, movie nights, breastfast with santa and the easter bunny. I am so impressed with the level of care that the girls provide my child, i can leave knowing they are safe and well cared for.
My son come from another setting were i felt his additional needs where not being met. He started in Jan of this year and has come on amazing. He's doing so well and is happy and settled and his needs are being supported! The girls are amazing, we love it there. Best nursery around!!
I am very happy with this preschool. My child is well looked after and well treated. If a child is happy to go back to preschool, happy when being collected, does not say anything negative about it, likes her ladies and gives them cuddles when going home - that means to me my child is content and in a good place.
Lots of activities, forest school, this year breakfast with Santa in a pub and breakfast with Easter Bunny in another one was a great time to go out for parents aswell. Cooking session, movie evening, parents information evening. You are always updated on your child and can ask hundreds of questions - it is never too much.
A big thank you to the Staff - doing a great job.
Our son has been attending Pollyanna’s since the start of 2021. He started just two or three mornings a week but in the last 18 months has been there full time. In that time he has come on leaps and bounds, particularly over the last year (prior to that there were a lot of staff changes, but the staff that have been there this last year really are amazing, so knowledgable and do such a good job!)
I can’t fault the nursery at all. Different activities set up every day, school in the woods, cooking, movie nights, teddy bear picnics, lots of celebrations/parties, Christmas and Easter breakfasts with Father Christmas and the Easter Bunny, sports day, fathers/Mother’s Day mornings, Christmas nativity, a
meet up during the summer holidays etc… He loves it!
They use the space so well and every morning we go in, there is a different layout/different activities/different toys and crafts.
A cooked lunch is offered twice a week (pasta Tuesdays and fish & chip Thursdays) and sometimes, depending on what the children are cooking, they’ll have that for their lunch too (curry, vegetable soup, sandwiches etc…)
I have quite a few mum friends with children the same age, who don’t live in our area but are always commenting on just how much Pollyanna’s does with the children and wish their preschools would do the same.
He is so happy every time he comes home and tells me he’s been on the ‘proud cloud’ or has a special ‘kindness’ or ‘well done’ badge. And if he has learnt something new at home or done some cooking etc, he is always desperate for me to take a video/picture of him doing it so that he can show his teachers and friends the next day.
The staff are always on hand for lots of help and advice whether that be during a parents evening or a meeting set up quickly if you need some extra help with anything.
They are so welcoming and know all the children so well.
He will be leaving soon for big school and I know he is going to miss them so much!
Our daughter started at Pollyanna’s a couple months ago, just for a couple mornings a week. She is two and very clingy with me so they set up a settling in plan and worked with what was best for her. She absolutely loves it too; runs in, puts her water bottle away, shouts “bye mummy” and immediately finds something to play with, which is really lovely to see.
It’s so nice to have such a lovely place for them to go where I never feel worried about them and know they are safe, in good hands and have so much fun. I would highly recommend Pollyanna’s!!
I would also just like to say - I have just seen a review where the person said they pulled their child out as there were concerns with the front gate being left open - this completely baffles me. We are there everyday and the only time it gets opened is to let parents in/out to drop off and collect children. Other than that it is locked. I have never had any concerns with this and have 100% felt my children are completely safe and looked after at Pollyannas.
If you are looking for a preschool, please do visit Pollyanna’s!
My child attended until early 2023 and I had to pull them out in the end. I had concerns about a high turnover of staff as all previous teachers left at the same time obviously as they where not happy- not that they said that.
The new team never seemed to work certain days so I never knew if my child's key person was there or even who would be changing their bum which just is not ok and to me a basic thing.
I also had safety concerns with the main gate to the setting being left wide open and children could if they wanted run straight out into the road. I was told when I raised it this was fine as someone would notice. I would often bring my child in and not be greeted so how they would know they where their is anyone's guess.
I also complained to OFSTED at the time and felt due to my issues not being addressed I had no choice but to move my child. There are plenty of other settings that provide a better service in the area.
My son loves spending time at Pollyanna and I am very happy with how it is managed now. There are a lot of creative games, cooking and baking and a forest school that my son loves.
The staff is just wonderful x
My son has been at Pollyannas since the end of 2021 and will be leaving to go to primary school in July. There have been massive improvements since the team currently in place took back over.
He has had the best time there! The girls really get to know your child and go above and beyond to channel their interests and guide them with the things they need to work on to be ready for big school.
There are always a variety of activities set up each day with really clever utilisation of their outdoor space. They offer lunch twice a week and have arranged for lots of extra activities like movie evenings, sports days, picnics and holiday celebrations as well as parent evenings to prepare you for what to expect with the transition to primary school. They also offer forest school which my son thoroughly enjoys and gets a lot out of.
He has come on leaps and bounds socially and is more than ready for big school. I can’t thank the Pollyanna team enough and will be sending my little one there as soon as she is old enough!
Massive changes in staff recently have resulted in poor care, a whole team gas left. Some days I don't know who is looking after my child and the ratios are out. I have also raised complaints with OFSTED.
