Just no

No dont do it to urself. Save ur mental health from the feral students. The priority was always good grades never childrens well being. Was not a safe space. Students would vape, smoke weed, and so all sorts of things children shouldnt have been exposed too. Sexual harrassments and bullying goes over the schools head. Just dont do it urself or children. Not a place for you to send ur 11 year olds in september or itll change them for the worse.

This Doesn’t Even Begin To Cover It

If there was an option for 0 stars, I’d give that.
This school is a awful nightmare.
They pride themselves with their slogan of “Think Pendle Vale, Think Achievement” however in reality it should be, “think Pendle Vale, think:
• Not being taken seriously regarding mental health
• Decrease in mental health
• Ignored if you’re being harassed
• Sexual Assault swept under the rug
• Being forced to read and punished if you don’t
• Being contacted constantly about petty things.
• Being put into isolation
• Sanctions being overly used!
• Threats
• And Hypocrisy!

Students have to fight for their voice to be heard regarding mental health (which they see as an invalid reason for absence - claiming school is the best place for that) and if they aren’t heard and take matters into their own hands for example walking out because school isn’t helping, they are then punished.
The level of work they pressure students to do is disgusting. They work out how much time students spend outside of school, and shove that number in their face when there is a rise in incomplete work. They don’t however factor in that number: Sleeping time, Travelling time, Chores at home, Time to eat, Some children not having support or parents and having to care for younger siblings. They tell the students to stop spending that massive number of hours dossing and doing nothing. To keep up with the level of homework, you can kiss your sleep goodbye.
Out of curiosity, when asked, students have said they are being ignored when they claim someone is bullying them, harassing them or even assaulting them, and sexual harassment is clearly none existent in their lala world of being “outstanding for Ofsted”.
When there is sexual Assault/harassment of a boy to a girl, they throw lame excuses such as “Boys will be boys” or “to ignore it” while allowing them to continue without any talking to what so ever. However, when a girl retaliates, then she is at fault and is punished, and if she is harassing a boy, then it is taken extremely seriously. There is serious sexism against girls at that school. Which also leads on to the expectations a girl has to adhere, while boys get to roam free. Girls are picked on by teachers and humiliated for trying to express themselves, which the school will say “be yourself”, and boys are not excluded to this. This school is so petty and cares more about isolating students for their hair being different and/or unnatural, or for wearing make up, or even for your shoes not being polished than they care about the children’s education. They also put so much pressure on children about the importance of their education, that if a child breaks down, they don’t care unless they make a scene. They threaten the students with the result of failure if they don’t focus their entire lives around school or if they got one mark below their target grade. A teacher even slammed a McDonald’s application on a child’s desk and said “this is where you’ll spend the rest of your life” rather than assisting the child to get better.
The school prides itself on trying to save paper and recycling, yet is constantly printing out letters on trivial matters, and wasting paper on awards for the children who can’t behave because they managed to behave for two days of the week, whilst achievers burn out for not being recognised for their work, being failing and end up being sanctioned.
If you’re autistic or have ADHD, etc. you can be prepared to be brushed aside and ignored, or told “you only think you’re autistic” when bringing it to the teachers, head of year, or headteacher.

If you’ve read this far, you should know that this is barely even half the problems and issues with this school.
To summarise many points, there’s Fights, Patronisation and Gaslighting.
The teachers have God Complexes to a maximum. There are more and more problems, but this is based on personal experience as well as fellow former students experience.

Overall, to sum up, this school is absolutely awful, and should definitely think twice before sending a child there. Or be prepared for constant complaining from a child about the way children are treated there.

Mix toilets for teacher to monitor toilets

The head teacher has created mix toilets for students without discussing with parents. Now opposite sex teachers can go into toilets with students. The head teacher has created a space for pedophiles.
