This school is absolutely shit when I came here it was ok but until October it was crappy so there are a bunch of bullies there they are just dickheads the teachers don’t know how to even teach the lesson
An extremely horrible school.
This school is utterly atrocious. I have been attending this school for three years now and it’s got worse every year. The mannerism of the teachers here is completely unprofessional and I struggle to have an intellectual conversation as the teachers view all students at stupid, because of this they resort to intimidating the pupils.The majority of teachers who work at this school are incredibly rude and pick on certain students. The teachers care more about the students uniform than their education, for example a suspension for wearing fleecy leggings. The weather has been in the minuses recently and I have been trying to keep warm, however this school has made it very difficult for me. This school is fine with skin tight pants and see through tights but not thick leggings. I fail to see how extremely short mini skirts are allowed but not leggings because what I’m wearing on my legs should not affect my education. However because of this issue I have had to go to school in my skirt and have had to deal with a horrible cold, in result of this the teachers are now complaining about my attendance. Furthermore the school’s way of dealing with bullying is absolutely atrocious. I have received many racist comments in this predominantly white school and the teachers turned a blind eye. I was a victim of bullying, harassment and racism and the teachers made it seem as I was overreacting. I definitely do not feel safe in this school and I don’t feel as if I could confide in any of the teachers for help due to their lack of respect towards the students. This completely appalling school also violates the human rights of the students attending. They lock the bathrooms making it impossible for students go to the toilet. I appreciate the fact that there are students who vandalise and don’t treat the toilets as the should however making it impossible for all students to attend the bathrooms is a complete violation of human rights. This school has already been in newspapers for violating human rights. I advise parents don’t send their kids to this school especially if they are a person of colour, coming from a student who has experienced the affect of the lack of diversity in this school. I hope OFSTED do something about this because I don’t think any child should dread the fact of coming to school everyday especially since it’s something they will need to do for many years to come.

Very appalling school teachers don’t care about bullying both myself (20 now) and my sister whom is 15 have very severe ptsd from this school from being bullied so badly that we had both had to be home educated I still struggle from severe brain damage due to everything I went to regarding the bullying and was heartbroken when my younger sister had to go through the same thing atrocious school, honestly awful
The truth about this school
Hello and welcome to this review. In this review, I am going to tell you the truth about this school. You are about to read what the teachers don't want you to know about. This review is 100% family friendly so it means that anyone of any age can read it.
When I first came into this school and got told off for having the slightest corner of some paper not stuck in, I knew that I was going to have a good time here. During my first years here, the students here haven't been the nicest. I have been told to move out of the way on the stairs, jumped on the corridors, have things said behind my back and even once had a 6th former snort at me.
I used to have chicken wraps and they were really good, but now they are terrible. I once bit into one and the chicken was grey. And the chicken wraps aren't just the problem as well. I bought pepperoni pizza because the chicken wraps just became uneatable and the pizza is somehow even worse. It is a very big floppy pizza and they don't provide plates. And guess how many peperoni they have on there. 3. On a pizza that is bigger than a small plate. Then the school bought in a new catering company and the food situation is even worse than what it was before. They dont serve the same food at break and lunch like they used to do, the chicken wraps somehow look even worse, they put hash browns in burgers and worse of all, they got rid of the popcorn bags and now have popcorn in the cup, and they have jam on it. WHO PUT JAM ON POPCORN. WHO PUTS HASH BROWNS IN BURGERS. The food situation became so bad that I started to eat junk food since that was the only good thing they had and then I decided to go with packed lunch. And while I am on the topic of lunch break, might I add that the new 30 minute lunch break is a terrible idea. 2 weeks ago I went into the lunch room and there was a massive queue. There were kids cutting in line, kids pushing and shoving, all the kids weren't lined up in an ordinarily fashion and some kids were at the lunch line were there when they weren't even getting any food at all. When I got my food the bell had gone and I had to throw away my perfectly good jelly that I spent with my mothers money and didn't get the chance to have a packed lunch.
In my career at this school, some of the teachers that have worked there haven't been great. I had a maths teacher in year 7 who never taught us anything. In fact all she would do is spend the entire lesson on the starter task and explain how to do things such as 420+69 in the most slow and boring way possible.
I had a cover teacher in a double history lesson and all he did was give us a sheet with 5 questions on it that could be answered in 30 seconds and then gave us nothing else.
There is this art teacher at the school and she shouts at us and compares us to some kids in a prison school. She says that the kids behave better than us.
The worst one however is a Geography teacher. She would go on for 5 minutes if you are late. The kids would say that they were on the top field and couldn't hear the bell and then she would say things such as well maybe you need to go and get a watch so that you aren't coming into my lesson late. because this is wasting time now. If a student breathed wrong when another student was talking then she would go on for 5 minutes and say that that student is wasting time. One time a student asked another student for a pencil and she would go on for 5 minutes and complain that we were wasting her time.
Also might I add, the supply teachers just give you a textbook and tell you to answer the questions on it. (I guess the positive is that it gives you more time to talk to friends.)
They also don't care about students when they freeze. If a student is cold then instead of letting the kid put a jumper on or put the heating on, they will tell you that they are not cold and then also tell them off for having non uniform. This situation was especially worse during the covid times because the windows had to be open all the time (even if it was -10.c) and the students weren't allowed to wear jumpers.
The bathrooms are shocking. It has been closed over 7 times due to vandalism. Kids smoke and vape in there. I once went in there twice and the first time I went in there a kid kicked the door open and on the second time I went there the door had no lock.
Some of the assemblies that this school has is boring and are a waste of time.
That video they made is scripted and doesn't show what this school is actually like. Luckily you have this review that tells you what really goes on at this place.
Parkside is the scruffiest school in bradford. There is litter EVERYWHERE! all the walls have vandalism on it, I made a paragraph about the vandalism in the bathroom, one of the computer science classrooms have missing keys on the keyboards and food shoved into the disc drives, some of the walls have carvings on them, smashed glass and staples in the walls. The teachers here are very aware of this but they do not do anything about it.
And don't even get me started on the dsp!
in this place there are a bunch of dumb, strict and just outright made up as they go along rules. We used to have this thing called computer club. it was a place where you could go to at break and lunch time and you could play games there. But the new teachers decide to ban it for no apparent reason. This really annoys me because ABSOLUTLEY EVERYTHING IN THIS PLACE IS BANNED! The behaviour from some of the kids are bad because they are bored out of their minds cos they have nothing to do anymore. The break and lunch times here have almost turned into detentions.
Ok this review has gone on for way too long now but I hope that anyone who is reading this knows what this school is like. If you are a parent and you want your kids to go to a good secondary school then go to bingley grammar since it doesn't have that many bad reviews and friends that I know that go there haven't said anything that negative about it.
ps: I was given the option to go to a college and I made the choice to stay at parkside. All I can say is that that was the biggest mistake of my life.

School not willing to teach kids with disabilities
My autistic has been bullied, picked on by teachers, put in detention while attending Parkside school for 4 years. He has not learned much as the teacher refuse to teach him. Children pick on him & he gets in trouble for telling on them. He has been put through pure hell.
Very bad school
This school is awful. I have regretted sending my children there since their first days in year 7. The headteacher doesn’t care for any academic improvement but only worries about it he appearance of her school. The way the staff handle any kind of bullying is also ridiculous, they do nothing about it. If your thinking of sending your child here, don’t.

the new headteacher is trying to turn the school into something it isn’t. She does not care for the children’s education and only about appearances. Teaching easily influenced children to judge by appearances and they’ll only get somewhere if they dress a certain way. The school is corrupt and needs a decent headteacher that cares about the children’s well-being. I completely agree with the other parent on here too! They don’t care for children that are bullied and have no decent teachers at all. They have hardly any good 6 form options too.

As a 6th form student i've had plenty of time to get to know the teachers and students and i would suppose that theyre all average. The teachers are kinda and helpful, but not extraordinary, and the students for the most part a just as they are - kids, their behaviour is okay to bad depending on the day. Overall id suggest it as a good school, but it is far from perfect
failure of academic principles
the teachers do not care about your actual uniform and the new headteacher is horrible and is not worth of a job at such station. They let kids freeze in class instead of putting the heating on or allowing them to wrap up. They do not care about the well-being of children. The new video they’ve created that tours the school is fake and scripted and is nothing like the real school at all. They don’t care about kids being bullied or sexually harassed. And the food they get to feed the kids are minuscule portions that are massively overpriced and can not be considered a school “meal”. They let kids starve during the day. And the food they do get is utterly disgusting and can not be considered edible

I'm not surprised kids get depressed and end up with mental health issues when I hear how they are treated by the very people who should be teaching and preparing them for adulthood.
He's not a bad kid and he's really intelligent, but this guy just doesn't like him and I can see how it's affecting him, but I don't know what to do, other than this....
