this school is awful, avoid at all cost. if you value your mental health then do not come to this school.
they treat us like we are part of the military and make every year up to year10 line up in silence every morning in a straight line. the staff are unfair and do not listen to us students, if we r upset and want to miss a lesson and speak to someone they say our learning is more important. if you get a detention and you cannot go to it for any other reason than medical you get a full day of isolation and then a detention after that. if you simply forget any type of equipment it is a straight detention. the actual teachers here are terrible, half of them have no idea what they are on about. the school also gave old teachers who let a pay rise to join back, that's how desperate they are, quite embarrassing if you ask me.
Don’t be fooled by the high salaries - awful place to work
Worse school I’ve ever worked in. New headteacher (PE Teacher) surrounded by more PE teachers in senior management roles, who simply have no idea how to run a school. Run like a dictatorship where staff are not valued, especially support staff. So much pressure and overburdened with work. So many off sick with stress, with no understanding or care. Yes, they offer quite good salaries for a school but be very careful for your mental health. So many better schools who do support and value staff. Run down school with run down ideas:(
How and why would you be abusively nasty to SEN pupils.

It was a horrible school with an extremely bad SEN department. The SENCo from September 2013-July 2016 was absolutely and professionally poor, I was kept locked in at the department all of Years 8, 9 and especially Year 10. The students who were older than me and the same age as me were very abusive and rough with me from September 2013 to July 2017. Why can't staff members deal with children who refuse to be friends with SEN children as well as themselves? I was locked inside of the SEN department for the entire Year 8 when ending Year 7 and when in Year 9 they kept me excluded from breaks and lunch and on Snapchat I called them: "A prison for retards." (No offense to anyone who sees this.) They also excluded me from the school 2 days after I did it, the day after exclusion I recently heard at the time that the support assistant was in tears of sadness crying over my exclusion. Extremely nasty and unprofessional, in my KS3 era they had a little bit of really nasty support staff who weren't nice to me on the professional level. In Year 10 I was doing so weak and poor like I was at the start of being locked indoors because my mental and emotional wellbeing was dreadful, I always came home after feeling so weak and faint in that school from the staff and students. In Year 10 parent's evening, I was offered a place at an SEN school and my dad asked the teachers what would they think about it and they said it was the right school for me. In fact: NOT! They thought stupidly that I was not at all clever anymore and so they got rid of me. Extreme child discrimination and abuse.
Appalling school. Needs more help. Lessons are being disrupted because students get rfl for stupid things and it ends at a suspension. Some teachers also need to be sacked. The sets make no sense and all the school cares about is making it look smart and posh for visitors. Short staffed and when new teachers arrive they need to be informed of what was previously learned. If there was an option I wouldn't have put a star for any option because it makes it look better than it is. They also make you line up in silence, get your equipment out and your tutor checks you. They will do this every morning even in negative temperatures and can make you wait over 10 minutes with your equipment out before you are told to pack it away. Some people say it is based off of a military camp. Overall, this is an awful school. Don't send your kids here.
it is terrible and need even more fixing kids are missing out on so much education because they are in rfl and being suspended for stupid reasons it needs re fixing park house sort you’re self out .
Parkhouse received an awful Ofsted in 2022 and result of this the school is now classed as a "Trust" and is now under a company called Greenshaw.
The Greenshaw staff are horrendous.
Do not send your child here if they need have any special needs or need extra support e.g. mental health, they will receive no help or support.
The Greenshaw staff are terrible and they bribe students with Dominos pizza and Cadbury chocolate.
Parents evening is non existent, there is no praise, no rewards, no fun - only 10 minutes on a Friday lunchtime. The children are not treated as children, more like prisoners.
Made to line up in the mornings like military - even in the pouring down rain, no shelter.
Rooms are covered in mould and old chairs and tables from about 15 years ago but new Greenshaw staff have brand new furniture and chairs.
English teacher who wears inappropriate dresses and speaks to the students like dirt.
History teacher who also wears inappropriate dresses and can see her pants. Some of the teachers basic hygiene is disgusting so when they talk to you their breath stinks.
Not enough food in the canteen. All the teachers get their food before the students and some students don't even get a hot meal because they run out of food.
The school has been taken over by the gestapo! New trust only cares about its £3million profits and not education. Pupils who dare to display the characteristics of a human being will be punished and will be put in solitary confinement.
This review is going to be very negative but very honest...
Teaching staff will witness bullying and completely ignore it, they'll be verbally or physically hurting each other and teachers pretend like they don't see it. Students will try to talk to the 1 or 2 of the teachers they actually semi-trust and tell them about the bullying leading to self-harm etc and AGAIN... nothing is done. Some students don't even feel safe going to the toilets and will try to bring a friend.
Around 30% of the lessons are done by cover teachers who have little to no knowledge of the subject matter, if they do give any work out then it is worksheets that have no relevance to what students have been learning. e.g. the students are studying WW2 and then a teacher calls in sick and finds a random worksheet about the history of the Salem Witch Trials.
The school has around 40% of its students being Special Ed Needs yet there is no training given to teachers for SEN. Some teachers will even be asked to work 1on1 with students running around trying to start fires, pretending to be dinosaurs, etc with not even 5 mins of training given to them. When they ask for help they are taught how to discipline and nothing more. Then teachers are scolded for not handling things properly.
Rooms are often double booked leading to 20/30 mins of the lesson wasted trying to find a new room.
20-40 mins per class are usually wasted trying to ask students to stop swearing, shouting, using their phones, throwing paper, hitting each other, cutting each other's hair with scissors, throwing tampons around the room, spilling hand sanitizer over the desk or throwing it at other students etc.
Teachers are regularly sworn at and threatened and those kids are still in the school.
The cover staff arent left with work to do and if they try to ask other teachers in that department they'll be talked to as if they are worthless and hated (which other teachers in this school consider them to be).
This school is so horrible bc the teacher at nice the start to bc come mean and the have to set cameras in the toilet bc they can’t stop anyone and all they say is are you back chatting when that how a conversation works and in I’m almost year 8 and I hate it there my advice do not send you children there
this school is shocking and absolutely pathetic, teachers do not listen to anything you say and do nothing about your problems, communication is terrible and half the time we dont even have proper teachers we have substitutes. lessons are so boring and it is hard to keep concentration throughout lessons because of how poorly they are delivered to the students. i got blamed for leaving school one day to go get my lunch from sainsburys half way through the day when i dont even bring money to school and they phoned my mum and got her really worried when i was just in a lesson and it was someone else and i got very told off when i got a call from my mum asking where i was and when i went and asked the teacher who phoned my mum she just said shendidnt have time to check the security cameras and just was just laughing at me.
I’m currently in my third year of this school, and quite honestly it’s appalling at how bad this school has gotten, most particularly after the old head-teacher left. One of many problems is behaviour management. Many in my year are seen as “uncontrollable” and often no consequence or very little consequence occurs. The schools house point system is also just broken. Many troublemakers will get house points for writing a sentence, whilst others won’t get a house point for something that would be marked around a gcse grade 7+.
One of my friends has heard people inside toilet cubicles doing highly inappropriate things (of which I will not disclose), and as far as I’m aware no consequences were given.
People will skip and go off into the woods nearby and go and DRINK in the woods, and the school seems not to care, and I quote of what has been said to a parent “they’re just run ragid, not our issue”
The teachers are mixed, some are really nice and funny, and teach you things, others just seem to hate teaching and it makes me wonder why they chose teaching.
As for bullying it’s basically like “suck it up”
My best friend is moving because of the quality of this school, and personally I believe there are many better schools out there, and should avoid this school.
The culture at this school is terrible and just seems to get worse every year. On one hand you have a group of students who actually want to work and are high achievers and on the other hand you have a bunch of disrespectful thirteen year old wannabe gangsters. Lessons are almost unbearable due to the amount of disruptive behaviour and the lack of respect towards the teachers (from a VERY loud minority of students). I can count on more then one hand the amount of times teachers cried in lessons due to the abuse they received from the class, it’s shocking. Students who actually wanted to work and had high targets set out for them are often neglected due to the fact the teachers have to spend so much of their time correcting and following up on behavioural issues. I’m not sure how I feel about this issue though as on one hand the school could put in more effort to correct this behaviour but on the other hand it does seem to be more of an overall cultural issue with influences from outside of school greatly effecting students behaviour, so I’m not sure there is much they can really do to change this.
There also seems to be a massive communication issue amongst staff where half the time staff do not even know what’s going on or when key events are. The school is also terrible with communicating with the parents of students, on many occasions my parents were notified of events with less then one days notice. Also the report card system the school uses is terrible, for each subject the student is given a colour (red, amber or green)generated by an algorithm based on the students SATS scores, this is pretty useless as it gives no real insight into how the student is really doing in that class.
Academically the school is a real mixed bag, some subjects are stronger then others in terms of the quality of teaching (English, History, Psychology and PE) and some are definitely needing improvement (Science and Modern foreign languages). Like the students grades, the quality of the teachers is also I really mixed bag, there are some in incredible teachers and some who I’ve no idea why they thought it would be a good idea to go into this profession.
As others have mentioned in their reviews I was also sexually harassed by a member of staff when I was in Year 9. I choose not to tell the school as I felt the head of student management at the time would not care or take it seriously, this is because the head of student management at the time was not at all approachable or fair minded when it came to sorting out students problems- it seemed he was more interested in intimidating students into follow school rules.
Overall, this school is what you make of it. If you can ignore the idiots, disruptions and the odd dodgy teacher then you will be fine and come out with decent grades. But if the constant disruptions and behavioural issues will bother you then I would probably think of going to a different school.
Bad school bullied all though my years. Teachers did nothing to help except exclude me when I was being assaulted and put me in isolation. The hygiene in the school is appalling, I Actully got excluded for taking my own wipes in a classroom and cleaning them as it apparently distracts others learning. I also was sexually harassed and teachers did not take it seriously. I have been assaulted numerous times by students and staff have told students/ people outside of the school confidential information and when I reported it they said they don’t want to open a can of worms they can’t resolve. When I got excluded for no reason I was given pre school work and the school don’t care about mental health. All they think of is filling there back pockets with money, no care for the students and no support. All the staff stick with each other and email different departments of the school about a students and talk about there personal issues with students. Teachers pick out there favourites and usually leave out the unpopular people who Actually want to learn and get higher grades. Cover teachers are terrible as they let fights happen in the class room and watch and laugh. No student is safe in this school and should look else where.
This school is horrible. Teachers do not care about any kids feelings. They ignore all of the signs and when you reach out for help they turn you down. Never made me feel safe at this school non of my stuff for gcse got sorted until my mum sent in a complaint it was a poor choice.
AVIOD THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COST!! I was locked in a room by my headteacher, deputy head and student manager, who pinned me against walls and put me in a headlock, after school hours. These 3 all used to blame me for things I did not have anything to do with. My step dad died and in return the school treated me like I was nothing, no support, a councillor who told all the teachers everything. I was told by teachers that they did not care that my step dad died and that I should leave my problems at home. I was sexually assaulted at this school and they did nothing. They do not care for their students one bit. Not only that but they have employed a *** ********** who ended up Sexually harassing girls, such as looking up their skirts ect. This school is vile. Most of my year was on a grade U in science because they could not teach to save their lives. Please do not send your kids to this school if you want them to have a proper education. Most of the buildings are portable buildings and the toilets are full of mould and smell horrendous.
The school is full of filth, the teachers are genuinely peadofiles, they’ve locked kids in rooms after school without informing the parents. It’s full of drugs and the head of security touches kids and has banged someone’s head against a door on purpose several times.
The school is very un hygienic mold in the bathrooms, not taking the pandemic seriously teachers coming into contact with students and not a very social distanced safe place to be, not a lot has been put in place and teachers are putting so much pressure on the kids and not actually using the school time efficiently and not helping students with important work so disappointed I have pictures of the mold to it’s disgusting
