Highly recommended

My child has just started at Our Lady's in year 7 and is very happy here. Bullying and poor behaviour is sorted and dealt with. My son feels happy, safe and loves going to school.

The school has a unjust reputation for being extremely or overly strict, my child hasn't even received a single warning let alone a detention. If children follow the rules, do as they have been asked or told and behave in a way that is kind and polite then there shouldn't be a problem.

Communication with the school is excellent. We have several points of contact to email if are stuck on homework, need advice or there's an issue that needs resolving. Staff are prompt, courteous and effective.

There's lots of clubs and societies. My son has made lots of lovely new friends, the first 2 weeks there is bootcamp, no lessons just ice breaker/treasure hunt activities to get used to the school ect.

School uses synergy, a system where parents and students can use an app to see what their timetable is, attendance, behaviour, assignments/homework, messages, parents evening, clubs and societies ect are all accessible on the app. School reward good behaviour with aspire points, a certain number of pointsgets rewarded with school trips, pizza lunch ect.

My son has been assessed and placed into a set stream where the teaching is at the right level for him. My son has also been assessed for SEN and the right support has been put in place.

As for behaviour, there is absolute zero tolerance to bullying, anti social behaviour and the persistent and deliberate disruption of learning.

The school has a high expectation of behaviour and expect children to rise and meet this standard. Of course children are not adults, and are still learning and growing, and so inevitably will make mistakes. There is scope for this, as there is opportunity to reflect and alter the course of their behaviour.

If you want your child to learn in a safe environment, where clear boundaries are set and maintained and where your child will be held accountable for their behaviour (as will their peers). Then I highly recommend this school.

Search on the school website for the year 7 handbook for more information and read behaviour policies to get an idea about what expectations/school rules are consequences are

A mess with a badge

Ex staff- A chaotic, nepotistic mess of poor leadership, disenfranchised teachers and overworked support staff topped off with a total lack of vision or support.
With a restructuring of management it could be a halfway decent place- instead it has become a local sinkhole.

xoxox

wouldnt reccomend going here, teachers cant handle any situation. SLT and pso is rubbish and do nothing at all for the kids , worst school in lancaster wish i went to a different school instead of here. care about childrens grades and academicness more than their mental health

how this school handled Covid

I go to this school, I think they handled the pandemic well but could have handled it with more specific rules and regulations in place
