Really bad experience at this school. Lots of bad behaviour from kids and the school does nothing about it. Headteacher has no interest in engaging with parents or doing anything about issues. School is very underfunded. Low intake on a regular basis into reception. Recent key stage 2 results were poor.
Meant to be a Catholic school but the school does not display Catholic values.
Friends have had much better experiences at other schools in the area Darlinghurst and Chalkwell.
Nothing good to say about this school. I remember going here and it was the worst 7 years of my life. Don’t waste your time here. I remember today the reason I hated this school so much: I was picking up my brother and the sarcasm and snobby comments made by staff made me realise why so many people had bad experiences at this school. Not only are there negative attitudes from staff, the education is seriously lacking. I now go to a grammar school, and with no help from my primary school, but from a private tutor. Even now in school, I am affected by the poor curriculum and quality of teaching at this primary school(It is concerning and they need to train their teachers better- there is no excuse!). I am so far behind in Maths, due to the lack of quality teaching at this school and the same goes for everyone I know who went to this primary school. I can’t believe this school is still open with the horrible experiences and reviews. No surprise the OFSTED reviews are bad- do the staff even try? There is no respect towards the parents, and are treated as if they are the students- the parents are more qualified than the teachers! The staff also seem to forget they are working with children, who are sensitive, you shouldn’t be shouting at children, or telling them they are the worst class you have ever taught. We have learnt from our grandparents that this way of teaching doesn’t work. There is no need to be so negative towards children. Chalkwell Hall Junior School seems like the better option, as I know many people who enjoyed going to this school. The only good thing about this school is that it is Catholic and you can share your religion with your child, although I don’t think this school even cares about it anymore as they decided to replace their chapel with an office! If you want your child to enjoy primary school, do not send them here. :)
I wish Ofsted had checked how many SEN children left during last 3 years and trauma of how many families was skilfully brushed under the carpet. People are leaving and their stories are untold. People hear /stories/ but no one is interested if it's not about their child. I hope the headteacher+her circle will pay in karma for the stress they caused to so many. Sadly that school represents for us everything Catholics are generalized for.
