We had an extremely negative experience of odds. Here are some facts:
- staff turn over is extremely higher, it’s not a recruitment problem (as with other nurseries) it’s a case of retaining staff. Many last only a few weeks.
- we were frequently told lies about what my child had done and eaten. I know this because the ap was different to what I was told at the door, and when I challenged repeatedly why this was happening a member of staff told me how they were encouraged to lie to parents
- the activities and toys are inadequate for the age range, child led means led children roam around a basic room with 4 objects in it. There’s no story time, no encouragement with new activities, etc.
I would urge parents thinking of Odds to take the negative review on this site and also the reports from Ofsted seriously and to consider your options. I wish I had read this review before I made my decision and ofsted had declared odds a ‘requires improvement’ nursery earlier
I am in furious! My daughter was due to start here at the beginning of May, I'd paid the deposit and and reserved her space, only to be told today that they don't have capacity for her anymore. I was scheduled in for a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They came back to say that they could only give me a Friday, a day I never asked for and don't need and classed that as 'working with me to find a solution' I have an incredibly demanding full time job and have been juggling childcare with family since March but now I could lose that job because they took children on that they shouldn't have between me reserving a space and my daughter starting and said 'sorry we're at capacity'. They cannot count and if you reserve a space and pay a deposit, you may be let down at the last minute.
