This school is a shithole once I caught someone rolling a fag outside the reception, some teachers say racial slurs and some teachers make students scrape gum of the bottom of the tables as a punishment. One teacher has sent my friend to isolation every lesson for 5 times in a row. Ofsted please look at behavioural issues with the teachers at Newent Community School and sixth form centre and if u do dont tell them ur going there as they are extremely nice when your the so surprise them.

Bad school
I went to Newent school in the past and was very unhappy there. The teachers did not try to encourage pupils to fulfill their potential. I was also bullied, which was not tackled by the school. I know other pupils who go there now and they too are being bullied.

I am currently a student at newent community school in y7 and teachers act like they are going to deal with the situation but in reality they don't.For example i was burned by an older student by them heating a spoon with a lighter and all they did was suspend him for a week.this school is horrible and i would not recomend

There is a lot of malicious bullying at this school. Our young granddaughter is currently being bullied. Her mum reported it to the school but they seem to be reluctant to do anything about it. Our daughter in law has told us bullying is rife at this school.
Not for most children
Had to leave after 2 years after I recieved physical violence from another peer. Principal, head of house, and Safeguarding staff refused to do anything about it. Teachers are mostly good a couple can't control a class properly, couple really put in the effort. Don't go to this school unless your child is social enough, quiet kids like myself have/will struggle A LOT.

-Mostly a good school.Teaching generally not bad. How well you do academically is up to how much effort you decide to put in.
-Sixth form seems a bit of an after thought though. Management don’t seem to check on whether the teachers are actually supporting sixth form students properly. You’ll need to do the vast majority yourself.

100% not a community school.this school has no shame.I’m possibly disgusted. The teachers seem to scare more about what you look like. What you’re wearing. Rather than how the student is. Instead of asking us to tuck our shirts in maybe ask how we are??? A community school should be against racism and should preach about how it shouldn’t be used from students. Yet the teachers are acting like hypocrites. I’ve heard the head of my year use a slur and I’ve heard multiple teachers spit shame on other cultures. Another thing is nose peircings for Asian students. From what people tell me teachers mix up religions and cultures. I was told a girl had a nose piercing in for cultural reason yet the teacher continuously argued agains her and that she was wearing it for the wrong reasons. Who is a teacher not of her culture to tell her. Yet this tecaher was also uneducated. I’m disgusted. In assemblys kids are being told that racism is againt yet teachers are going against their own rules. Students feel uncomfortable in situations because of this. This school has really gone downhill. Additionally miss Burke needs to take her dog home. No one wants to see it please take it home. Thank you
Newent school could do way better personally
The school nurse took my phone, when it was break time after the rules say only use at break and lunch. The like to go on about trousers or skirts just uniform in general but we go to isolation to report bullying, racism, stolen items etc and they don’t take further action I feel like ofsted need to visit the school and take action because the schools hygiene is bad and much more. Personally I say be open on another school cause I feel like I’ve learnt very little from this school. anyway if your seeing this hey mrs Burke do better xxx

No longer a community sch. They don’t understand the mental health needs of children. Particular teacher are bullies themselves, they shout rather than talk to pupils and wonder why they’re not respected. They criticise the pupils about their dress code yet the teachers dress code is appalling. Children sent to isolation because teachers can’t be bothered to listen to their needs.

newent is a terrible school they force a act to try make it seems like they know how to run a school and manage behaviour however they just put people internal exclusion and never let you have a say.if your thinking of joining think again

I have never had such nice teachers who care about me as an individual. Not only teachers but other members of staff. That would be my favourite part of the school. I would recommend Newent, having spent a year at a different school, is see that newent is so much better.

"we have a great team that wants to help" it's all lies. they don't care about you and they don't care about your mental or physical health. Don't go if you want to enjoy secondary school, it's a shithole and all the staff are only in it for the money.

In Yr7 a group of older girl jumped my sister and friend (kicking them and pinning them to the floor) A different one of my friends has also had issues a girl picked a fight with her for no reason and has pushed her down the stairs. She is currently being sexually harassed by a bow in our year. I have also been sexually harassed and torment by the same group of people. This has all been reported before and all of the "bullies" have had no punishment but the have apparently been "talked too". I have also been able to use the G11 room as a safe room to go to if I feel worried but at the end of Yr8 I was kicked out. While being able to use G11 (in Yr8) I was kicked out more then half the time as it was "too full" so I would just walk home. They're are a few lovely, kind teachers but the others are just down right disrespectful to students no matter if they're naughty or not. The head teacher doesnt really do much for the school, she doesn't even host any assemblys herself.
