Bullies
Few teachers bully pupils no accounting for any issues kids have .bullies that shouldn't be teaching let alone run it.same ones all the time headmaster no better. Takes so long for education authorities to get involved but they still don't keep to what's agreed ...don't take it from them. .

Poor standard...
The school wasn't awful in all aspects but generally it wasn't a good experience. I went to rickstones throughout my year 7 to 11 experience and I could honestly say after year 7 it was a downwards spiral. The teachers were biased and quite frankly for some of them, if you weren't their favourite, they were basically bullies. Not naming name but a certain science teacher was definitely awful. There was also a lot of sexism in the school, particularly in P.E. The cafe food is very expensive especially the people who took over when I was in year 9, the prices doubled if not more. Bullying was a big issue throughout the school, I even saw a student making racist remarks to my friend and I believe the student got away with nothing more than a lunch time detention. The hygiene isn't the best either, there was rubbish everywhere and don't get me started on the state of the toilets. Honestly it was vile. Although it did suck mostly, I must say the English department was amazing and so was a certain female geography teacher and my triple science biology teacher was the best, she was very supportive. I wish I could say names because my English teacher who I had from year 7 all the way until year 11 was amazing, she was so supportive and helped me get a 9 grade. But I do have to honestly say other than those 3 teachers, the rest really was not enjoyable. We didn't go on my many trips either, I could definetely count the trips on one hand. But I would not recommend going here as I didn't really enjoy my experience ...

some teachers are fine, english, science and drama departments are probably the best there and even then they’re sub par. the teachers are incapable of dealing with mental health issues or bullying, they only care when you’re about to unalive yourself. the teachers have favourites and that’s very clear from being a teachers favourite i got away with come things that others couldn’t. some teachers are sexist, for example me and my boyfriend did the exact same thing (didn’t do our top button up) and he got yelled at for it, although because of his mental health issues he couldn’t do it up, and guess what? i got away with it.
homophobia and transphobia runs rampant in that school and they don’t care, they never will.
if you’re a neurotypical straight racist person you’ll fit in here.
my advice? go somewhere else, anywhere else. if you love your kids you won’t send them here.

they’re incapable of dealing with mental health issues or bullying. kids smoke weed in the courts opposite the school, not like they care tho. i never got help after a family member died not until i attempted to unalive myself.

It's okay
A lot of the teachers are very hypocritical and express clear favouritism over other students resulting in unfair disciplinary action. However there are a few teachers who are outstanding especially those in the English department. The school is kinda unsanitary tbh because of the students. The cleaners try their best but some kinda are disgusting especially in the bathrooms. The cafe food is extremely overpriced and the cost of food shot up a couple of years ago.
Worst secondary school I went to
Never allowed individuality my collar rose up slightly after a drama class I got a detention. I had a lot going on so I needed therapy and we chose Friday cause I would miss half of music and half of history. But every Friday (even though we had a signed agreement) the would set off the fire drill 🤦🏼♀️
