New College Pontefract

Decent college. Did well in my A levels. The biggest problem was the bus. There was never enough space even though there were two buses on the route. In y12 I had a bus even though other routes had coaches, it was so cold in winter and too warm in summer. It wasn’t fair as everyone has to pay the same for the bus. In y13 I had a coach on my route which was a huge improvement, so much more space/more warm in winter. However, I believe it is now a bus that runs the route. It isn’t fair when every student pays the same £300 for a bus pass but have to get a small, cold bus for an hour while other students get a coach to college.

Daughter received B in history A levels this was lower than expected.

Requested scrips .

After seeing the incompetent marking, we had to pay to have them remarked both papers were originally wrongly marked and both were amended by 4 marks each.

I asked for my money to be refunded as it states the fee will be reimbursed it may have taken 2 papers to be remarked to change the grade but they only want to refund 1 paper . What a con! No one should have to pay for a job that was not carried out correctly in the first place.

What ever result students get at new collage you do not have to pay for the scrips so you should request them and read how they were marked weather you are going to pay for a review of marking or not!

Request the scrips the marker could be the reason you get a lower grade. After seeing your scrips , and you can see incorrect marking and believe you should have received a higher grade do not be intimidated when told “they could go down too!!!!” the whole system is wrong your asking a company to carry out an investigation into its self and are threatened by “your mark can go down too”.

I will update this review as I go along getting my money back and getting the process amended In favour of a hard working students and not a profit making business.

Why should parents or students have to pay again for them to check their own work that they have already been paid to do so?

Had my last review removed because it must have been taken as a joke, which is no shock coming from this Circus. My last review mentioned how the smoke was so thick outside of the college gates (Due to the huge amount of smokers/vapers who congregate there) that I felt like a siren was going to start singing to me. Was I greeted by the Black Pearl (Jack sparrows ship), no but I was greeted by the black pearly teeth of those students. The fact that my review was removed shows how this place want to censor everything negative that is said about them, well unfortunately this isn’t 1984 and that won’t pass. When I first noticed my review had been removed I was stoked, I thought maybe they had finally acknowledged my complaint as a neighbour of the site, but looking out of my window this afternoon there was no break in this wall of smoke. Instead of removing reviews I suggest you actually acknowledge them.

Still waiting for daughters certificates from 2020 not good

This school has absolutely not done enough to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Only wearing masks in the corridors, no social distancing anywhere, busses are packed shoulder to shoulder and it's the same situation in the classrooms. Both years are in at all times and seating has been reduced so there isn't anywhere to sit at lunch times. Also, not enough support is given for anyone who wishes to change their A Levels as, if you wish to change A Level, you must complete all the Summer work for the new course when the Summer work was assigned to be done over 6 months making it an unreasonable amount.
