Very bad school. Do NOT recommend sending your child here unless you hate them.
This school is truly awful
I hate every second of it
If your thinking about palling you child out of the school please do.
Mounts Bay Academy an awful experience with this school. Worst bullying ever. There was issues with fornication in toilets and drugs. Shocking to think we have to send our children into schools like this and worry for their safety. It is appalling and distressing.
the teachers here are are joke, they treat children with disrespect, children get bullied here infront of the teachers and not a word is said about it, the main mirror in all toilets have been blocked off and some of the toilets don't have a lights in it, in assembly students still have to wear blazers in the hot weather, teacher care more about how these students look rather than how they are feeling or learning. i would not recommend this school at all.
I have had two children go through Mounts Bay School and I will not be sending my youngest there. Every year it just gets worse. Lack of communication, disorganised and sports participation has drastically declined. If I knew then what I know now I never would have sent my eldest two. Sadly they both feel the same and would have most definitely thrived if they had attended another local secondary school.
i think this school is not the best it is way to strict and i think it is desgusting that they now have cameras in the toilets you have to ask to take your blazer off and awful things like that
i hate this school everybody treats me terribly i get bullied on a regular bases and there’s lots of problems including vaping in lesson in toilets and everywhere else some students even smoke in school and do VERY dangerous drugs the teacher have favourite and pick on you if they think you stupid please don’t come to this school
Unfortunately you are suckered into this school through an amazing sales pitch on open days, but once your child gets there it’s very different!
They have a huge problem with bullying that they like to sweep under the carpet.
If you email a teacher, and you’re lucky enough to get a response, it will be abrupt and poorly written.
However, the most worrying concern of all are for the more vulnerable children with a SEN, who are completely forgotten. The school will not address your child’s needs, there will be no meetings or contact, you will have to chase them, to only be fobbed off with short replies and no help.
This school is run like a cooperation, the more children they take, the more money they make, at the detriment to your child’s education and wellbeing.
Mounts Bay Academy is a total dump! Bullying is rife throughout the school. Students are rude, arrogant and disrespectful. There is no discipline, students smash up the school regularly, teachers turn a blind eye. Kids are vaping all over the school, Ofsted gave this school a ‘Good’ rating, unbelievable, my advice, send your kids to a REAL school!!!
I love this school I had moved here after being bullied at a different school , all the teachers were really welcoming and i caught up on the lessons really easily I love how they have iPads to help with your learning aswell. I have been here for 3 weeks but it feels like I had been here for years as I had settled in so quickly.
It's by no means perfect but there are some ace teachers and they seem to actually care. They call themselves a sports academy but that doesn't mean that's all their good at; the school literally has its own album. There has always been someone there for me at mounts bay and I appreciate that.
