Teachers are just horrible and don’t care about the children and their mental health. They like to give them a hard time at the school and they even admit it. I once got shouted at and they told me they going to make my experience hell at this school and i can tell you they have. They should be helping and giving support and not making it worse for the children since this could affect them. Also all they care about is the school’s reputation but don’t actually care about the students lives. They care too much about what people think about the school when they should be caring about the education because it is certainly not good education that they teach. The teachers are also all bullies
very weird rules, like not aloud to wear a coat inside because one single teacher wants to be able to see our faces and because it apparently takes us 20 minutes to get settled into a lesson because of wearing a coat inside before sitting down. They should take in consideration that people bring PE kits and extra bags for art or tech so they have to carry all that whilst having to carry their coat when it would be easier just to wear it. We need to take them off before entering the building so we have to put our bags on the outside floor just to take our coats because theys no where to put them whilst taking it off when we could just enter the classroom put our bags on desk and then take our coats off but apparently thats a problem to teachers when they should be focusing more on mental health and ALL THE VAPING AND SMOKING THAT HAPPENS IN THE BATHROOMS. They have big assemblys about mental health but actually do not care when we ask for support. Also the teachers are very nasty at this school. They are not helpful at all and just rude and they like to bully on a specific students or pick on them the whole lesson. Teachers also like to favouritise on students and treat the others like dirt. The toilets are also very disgusting, the floors are literally stained yellow from how dirty they are and they always smell. And finally the detentions are so ridiculous, you get a detention if you are late even if it is not your fault. If the school bus was the problem it is fine however if it was because of a public bus then they make it a huge problem. They always say they know how public buses are a pain so how come we still get detentions?

They Say They Care About Mental Health But They Don’t Do Anything And The Teachers Act Rlly Rude When You Don’t Agree With Something, Other Than That It’s Basic As Hell And It’s Not Even Fun So I Asked My Dad To Take My To A Different School Ppl Also Smoke And Vape In The BathRooms
i understand this school being old school and catholic but it’s like, if you don’t believe in something everybody attacks you because of it. like for example Ash Wednesday, some students didn’t want to do it (not in a disrespectful way they just didn’t want to participate) and the teachers got super angry at them, so mad one of them yelled. i don’t understand it, if they don’t wanna do it they don’t have to. Also the school is super homophobic they made year 9 stand in a line for 10 seconds but the school said it was 10 minutes (that’s what I heard anyways) and they all say that they support the lgbtq+ community yet everybody in the school says homophobic (and racially motivated) slurs. the school is shabby and the uniform is ugly
I’m a former student at Mount St Mary’s and it’s honestly super disgusting. To begin with, the school is super sexist, like for example i ask them so many times, why can’t we wear skirts? why can’t we wear them? ‘because we want u to look the same’ and because ‘it’s distracting’ but in pe the skirts are not even past our knees. and the uniform is so ugly and old school. It’s a stripped top like? and in summer we have to wear trousers even when it’s like 40°. Second of all it’s super racist because a boy said the n word and they didn’t do anything about it, and when they did all they said was “this is not who we are as a school” like that’s all they care about, school reputation. I regret asking my mum to go to this school and that’s why I’m moving very soon, i suggest not going to this school.
such a bad school i am a former student i had to teach myself majority of the gcse syllabus through buying textbooks as most teachers are not helpful at all, the students &teachers are smoking inside the building, the building reeks of ciggarettes i recall opening a bin and the bin was just full of cigarettes and this was in the cafeteria, students vaping inside the toilets, you are not allowed to take short cuts around the school, fireworks got lit near a year 7 class inside the school building, students are thieves when let out during 2pm
Terrible teachers, terrible students terrible environment. The building is an old catholic orphanage and some crumbs of rubble fall through the ceilings daily terrible dirty environment, toilets are shambles, litter everywhere, teachers not transparent enough towards the carers of the student, students from this school steal from local shops and cause havoc in the city centre, teachers have favourites, fights daily overall a 0/10.school does not retain their catholic values, would not recommend to anyone unless they're looking for a shabby school with poor conduct
Horrible school with some horrible teachers even in lessons teachers swearing in front of and at kids I could understand if it slips out but this was repeated many times throughout my time, also the school is not kept clean especially the toilet area, I remember at one point the headteacher sending all white students out of assembly saying we weren’t the problem.
Did not let me even go for a cup of water even though I was very thirsty because I left my bottle at home the year of head says why you going for water in the middle of lessons even though I was dehydrated
This school is great.By going through the list of grading my experience. The academics are pretty good, don’t get to choose between from triple science and combined though. Indoor environment is great knowing the history of the school but it’s quite tacky in places. Outdoor, is not the great due to it being a special building, the location and places surrounding aren’t as pretty as other schools. I felt very safe and secure in school. A really wide range of activities from debating teams to school performances and cheerleading. Teachers are lovely, and you have quite a close relationship with them, telling them anything, and always there to provide the best for you. Handling bullying I’ve never had experience with so it’s great from what i know. In conclusion, this school is so cultured and diverse, coming from many backgrounds, this schools supports everyone, also a point for it being in City Centre with links to buses and the town.
