I went to Belmont for around 2 years, before leaving after having no support at all from the staff. In one of those years, I was bullied but when I told a staff member, they laughed at me because I was upset.
Here are a list of things that my old head of year has done. She once called my friend and I useless in front of the entire class because we forgot our tupperware in cooking. I am not sure if it was supposed to be a joke, but since I am autistic I don't tend to pick up on jokes. She made fun of my friend's mental health issues to me (in her office with nobody else around). Due to the fact my friend and I were very close this upset me as well, because I care about her a lot. She outed me as LGBTQ+ to my transphobic parents even though I specifically asked her not to, as I was not ready. After this, she then proceeded to continue using my deadname & old pronouns. I shouldn't have to explain how this transphobic act made me feel. There are residential school trips that happen in the end of year 7 and 8, but in year 7 I had a bad experience on it with bullying and mental health. Due to this fact I desperately didn't want to go on the year 8 trip, however she forced me to go on this trip. It didn't go well, and when I went back home after I felt even worse. On this trip, I had a head injury after being thrown into a wall by my friend accidentally. She, or any of the teachers on the trip, didn't do anything about it.
My new school picked up on my (now diagnosed) autism around a couple of weeks after I joined, however Belmont didn't pick up on it in the 2 years I attended there. Due to the lack of support I received, I struggle a lot to attend class now, even though I have support in my school.
Please do not go to this school, especially if you are autistic, have sensory issues or have adhd.
