Meltham School's Out

This is registered as nursery school which it's not. It is an out of school club for all the primary school students at Meltham C of E. It is a large dedicated room inside Meltham C of E Primary which I'd great as it means not travel to and from school meaning that the facilities can be used for the maximum time. The room is big, filled with well maintained toys, craft supplies and games. It is suited to all ages. They have a weekly craft which changes every week which is run by a staff member. These often include cooking, baking, painting and knitting. In terms of room it's great has a home corner, dressing up, games, sofas for relaxing, space to draw and create. Their is often playdough type activities on offer that change regularly as well. The club also have their own secure outdoor space which is amazing in the winter months or when other clubs are being run after school as they can't use the main playground. They also have their own outdoor equipment. The outdoor area attached to the club means the children also have the opportunity to safely play in the dark with finger torches! The staff are great. They plan fun activities but are very good at keeping a fun, safe atmosphere.The club also provides a full breakfast at breakfast club in the morning and a mini tea at afterschool club. The mini tea is everything from crumpets to pasta and jacket potatoes. The food is always well rounded and tastier then regular school food as it's purchase from the local supermarket. You go to a separate room to eat meaning everything in the main room is hygienic and not around food. They can cater to all dietary requirements. They have toilets and a cloak room with plenty of storage which is just for the club. Parents can drop of anytime at breakfast club from when it opens and anytime at afterschool club until it closes at the same cost. This allows for maximum flexibility. When your child starts in foundation stage they are assigned a key person and do various activities throughout the year to create a scrap book full of pictures and memories. This is a really nice way to see your child's experience at the club and you can ask to look at it at any time and your child's key person will be a main contact for you.
Overall an incredible club and I would have no hesitation sending any children! Highly recommend!
