Im a student currently enrolled and feel the school has improved when I joined in Year 8 to now year 1. I think the school has become a better place but in some areas the school dips with behaviour management many students truant and many are just given detentions which does not change anything which means it happens every lesson and every day. teachers struggle to teach in some lessons due to students causing issues and problems and starting pointless arguments to just stall the teacher from teaching and have a meltdown when they are told of.
the staff are nice and kind but some are quite lenient on the badly behaviour students and let them of or gossip with them and seem to let them of and give them multiple chances which shouldn't be done as this teaches them they can keep doing it.sometimes staff can come across nasty but mostly staff are super supportive and extremely caring when asking questions and giving support in lessons
in my opinion the school needs work and it is happening but the school is becoming a better place for students to learn.
Don’t know how to deal with mental health problems
Doesnt know how to help people will mental health problems / mental disorders. The LINC is the shittest place Ive been, they dont care if youre suicidal if youre in school. The teachers wre awful, and the students get away with anythiny with little to no punishment.
When i attended Manshead, i was bullied for a while and i told the Teachers there. Instead of the bully being handled, it continued for a while. In English, my teacher was extremely strict, and didn't make learning fun. She was very adamant on what to do but the way she explained how to do it never helped me personally. I don't think she understood that you need different ways of teaching for each student. She only focused on the students that were very confident and amazing at the tasks.
In Physical Education, the badminton was fun. The year got to choose from many different sports, and each term you could pick a new sport. The teacher however was a bit pushy. When you'd take a rest, he'd push for you to play the next game. I'm all for achieving and pushing to be your best, but you need a rest.
During Covid we were taken to do our tests and had to walk through an empty corridor to get there. The Head of the school came down and said we had to come back where we came from, even though we were basically at the end door that leads out.
The food was always excellent! something I'm still thankful for, as i never used to bring packed lunch. Cheap too!
