Send your kid somewhere else 💜

On my mama, this school needs serious character development. Why are grown ass adults shouting at us, but when we do it it's disrespectful. Or just simply degrading you Infront of everyone. And, last year, I went the whole year with a sub, so how will that benefit me. Manor needs to PATTERN.

Manor high schools despicable history

I have suffered so much in this school I have been bullied with teachers even coming as far as laughing at it. Teachers are not a point of contact students have no one to talk to,Behaviour goes unwatched and disrespect roams in this school.i have seen a cover teacher being beaten up by a student to the point in which they feel to ground, There is lots of unprofessionalism with previous teachers even having affairs with one another. Teachers called students lesbians and even judged transgender students, But also said words such as nigger and paki in a "fun context". Above all there is a great lack of staff as students can often go months without teachers but only covers. Conflict is often disregarded in this school as I have seen 2 students attempt suicide and many more self harming. TA are incredibly disrespected and insulted but also lack of guide as they interrupt lessons not knowing where to go or what to do. Political conflict such as Palestine, Congo,Somalia, Sudan is deemed taboo in this environment. The behaviour system is horrendous as a student could get an hour of detention by missing a 30 minute after school one and placed in a situation in which you have to walk home on your own in winter the sky gets dark easily and could pose as a danger. There is constant unprofessionalism as in ski trips teachers get drunk and loose track of students.
Overall working in this school has been a tremendous experience and never again I would not raccomend it to anyone.

Manor High School Review

Manor is, simply put, an excellent school.

The teachers at the school are highly knowledgeable and encourage students to work as hard as possible in lessons. All of the teachers fully understand their subject, and are able to effectively explain various concepts to students of a wide range of different abilities. This is reflected in the grades that students achieve, as well as the levels of progress within the school, which are well above the national average.

The school provides students with an amazing support network of staff that they can talk to at any time about any pastoral issues that they might have. The school is generally very safe. Bullying is a rarity within the school, and any issues with bullying and harassment are dealt with quickly and effectively. Issues with pupils' attainment and attendance are tracked down quickly, and the school works well with students to get them back on track, as they have done with me personally. The school also has a fairly strict behavioural policy which means that disruptive students rarely interrupt the learning of other students.

The school provides a wide range of GCSE options and encourages all students to choose Geography or History as well as a Foreign Language, since these qualifications are sought after by universities.

Manor provides a wide range of extracurricular activities, including lots of performing arts and sports based clubs. The school also host many trips, particularly in the art department, which offer students the chance to take their learning outside the classroom and simultaneously gain a lot of knowledge and life skills.

The facilities at the school are reasonable, with a huge field that students can use at break and lunch during the summer months, aswell as 3 sports courts which are primarily used for tennis and netball.

The school has a good range of food available for relatively fair prices.

The school is incredibly diverse, with students from a range of different backgrounds. Students are encouraged to get involved in activities within school, and teachers constantly communicate with students in and out of lessons, leading to a strong sense of community within the school and reinforcing the work done by the school's designated pastoral leaders.

The school's slightly smaller size of around 180 pupils per year means that each and every student is known in the school, so they can easily be supported and helped when needed. Because of this, teachers and form tutors know each of their students very well, leading to high levels of personal development and progress. Teachers regularly provide students with personalised feedback, which further encourages this development. Students are stretched and challenged by their teachers, who are all very positive and push each student to strive for the top grades.

Manor's core values of excellence, inspiration, resilience and respect really epitomise the culture of the school, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who lives in or around Leicester, as the school provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for all students, allowing all students to perform as well as they can.
