.......

This school has and was been the most horrendous case ever, after 2 years of not being at that school it still traumatises me thinking about it, I was always struggling with mental health and bullying, nothing was sorted and in fact the only time things were put in place is when other parties/authorities were involved and they also got in contact with the school, they have the motto of "chaging lives"with most lives they're changing is the traumatisation of the students, always encouraged attandence while half the staff took time off for the most random reasons and left the students with a clueless supply, they also loved to promote "mental health matters" by doing lessons about it yet didn't stick to their own word and often made mental health worse by putting pressure onto those that get so mentally ill they cannot physically come to the school. They gave rewards out for people with 100% attendance while making those who do not have and genuinely cant help but have something close like 99% feel bad and guilty for taking time off (even if genuinely ill), the whole entire curriculum was and still is a joke and half of the time while i was there teachers weren't bothered and made it actively clear they wasnt, rather then getting involved with the children and helping them. The canteen although murky did have a few good meals however was extremely cramped, had to have meals in the main hall at one point due to all years being fit in it, remember when I took my gcses and I was basically told I was going to be a failure in the most passive aggressive way. If you are a parent who knows that their child has mental health history / bullying history or any history with special needs this school is not the place to go, students and staff was horrid, pretty sure they still do not have much for SEND students.

Absolute shambles

Absolute waste of time and space. Called me in for interview and lesson presentation and after presentation they told me that no interview. Very unprofessional. Said lesson too high pitched. Showed them email saying it’s mixed ability. Why waste my time, had to take unpaid leave from current job. Students were fantastic but staff look very frustrated and complaining against higher authority.

Do not go here ever. I promise you will be happy anywhere else.

All I can say is that it is awful and you would hate it. They do nothing about bullying. They care more about your skirt length or the fact that you’re wearing a bit of stupid makeup more than your actual education. Although there are some teachers that listen and care, there’s not many and they do nothing about it. If there is a teacher causing problems with students, the teacher doesn’t get blamed, the student will. It’s never the teachers fault and I think that is stupid. The student will just get a detention and be told “you where disruptive to the class”.

Whatever you do find a place better than Manor Croft Academy.

The school is not as good as described as if you actually listen to many that attend and have attended it is not as good as it is described. One way I can describe it is bullying and other forms are not dealt with as it should be.And for a school that says the care about mental health they are rather verbally abusive. You can hear then scream there heads of at students for petty little things.

Avoid they only care about there attendance

worst school ever started there in year 9 and i had anxiety and they were telling me i was faking it they dont give a dam about mental heath at all they only care about there attendance told me face to face if i cant get into school go back to your old one or go special school because never had a person like me
i would advise AVOID
in covid i was in contact with a student who was positive for covid and refused to send me home and told me i better be in monday or it would go court but i tested myself on the friday i came back positive and they came to my house and said i will physically grab you and shove you in the car myself and take you
there was only one good teacher there who has left who understood and cared

Worst experience ever

I was told no one would love me if I didn't run cross country, got bullied a lot. Nothing was done about it. I went through 5 years of this place thinking I had depression then went to college and realised it was that school smh. I got good grades but now have a therapist 0-0

Do not go here. Never. Go anywhere else.

For a school that claims to care about you and your mental health, they sure are verbally abusive. The halls is full of echoes from teachers screaming, shouting their heads off at kids who honestly don't know any better. They are not adults; they are kids. And stop shouting. Please.

GCSE

Six out of ten.

In terms of education, the school is certainly a lot better than others in the area, some of the teachers are very helpful and good at teaching and preparing students for exams how ever bullying is a large issue in this school with it showing behaviour like guilty until eventually proven innocent where the victim is often judged if the bully does not seem like a bully in the eyes of teachers. Uniform expectations are honestly unreasonable compared to other schools even for year 11's such as no piercing spacers, no customization or expression of individuality. They will go mad if you don't like Hegarty maths or hwk and don't really address mental health enough especially with exams every month.

......

For a school that says they care about mental health they sure do put a ton of pressure on their students for GCSE's and talk about how the year before them always get perfect marks. It leaves you feeling like you must be perfect at everything you do.

The reason why you should come here.

Went here and tho there are a few bad teachers, this place has been awesome. The teachers are supportive and caring, they care what you get in your exams and if you're happy. They push you to be the best. The first few years are tough because it takes a while for bullying and rumours to calm down but once that has happened everything's calm and you can just vibe. Any work you put in will be directly rewarded with your grade.
