My daughter attended here, struggled within the school environment, pastoral care a non entity. Theee are some good teachers, however bad leadership creates a toxic culture amongst teachers who act out role of prison wardens rather than facilitators of learning! If your child is fairly quiet and we’ll behaved-do not send here olease

Maghull High
I went to this school and the mental health support is horrendous, i’d rather have stuck pins in my eyes than go there everyday , don’t send your child here it is a miserable wasteland.
Dreadful.
This school is extremely poor, I myself go here and I have gaps within my education towards science and maths, aswell as buisness studies. The school food is appaleing and I have gotten samonella TWICE of the chicken provided to us all. Bullying is also a big problem within the school and it takes roughly a long time to get prevented. Many students are not allowed to go the toilet as some use their toilet time to sit and giggle with their friends in the toilets, aswell as smoking inside of them. Another issue is the fact the school is so tough on how we look appearance wise, they should personally focus on our studying and providing a safe enviroment, many students cannot express themselves in this school. One thing to finally add, please do not put your child under Maghull High's care.
Do not go here
Chose to come here after a sibling also came here and has gone extremely downhill over the years. Worst experience at this school. Didn't have decent science teachers from year 8-10, they only gave us decent ones in year 11 when GCSE's were coming up. Terrible vaping problem that the school can't sort out, you can't even go to the toilet without being rushed and shouted at as teachers automatically assume you're vaping. Basic human rights out the window. School can't deal with issues well either, they only care about appearance of pupils and behaviour rather than their mental wellbeing. Only a few teachers in that school that I could say I really liked and enjoyed being in lessons with.

Quite a good school, improved a lot over the years. Nice teachers and lots of support for kids

not the worst school in the area if anything one of the better ones, but this school is still ridiculous, and the more time that goes on this school gets worse and worse tbh, they also “love to listen to there students and get there feedback on things” then never do anything about it, they avoid their school issues like the plague. there are so many more issues and seem to care more about appearance of their school image than the school.
Bad School
Awful experience at this school. Unreliable teachers (aside from a few really good ones who were super caring). Didn’t have proper science teachers for the 2 years following up to my GCSEs. Generally didn’t care about the wellbeing of children at the school, and chose to ignore problems rather than solve them. More focused on the way pupils look than how they feel and how they excel/perform. Extremely unsupportive. Don’t send your children here; it was the worst decision of my life, especially since I had the opportunity to go to so many schools where I would’ve done so much better.

She began struggling in a big environment, dreaded going into school . We sought support from school pastoral who were very unsupportive. I had to seek help from GP camhs for school based anxiety.
My daughter is a very quiet well behaved child yet attendance officer and pastoral lead threatening to get her into school without recognising right support was in place resulted in non attendance, and increased anxiety. Now de registered and my daughter is recovering well. I have older children who attended a different secondary school and experienced no struggles, now have good jobs. I would recommend you look elsewhere for a better school as Maghull Hogh will not be there if your child struggles, and standard of work compared to my older children’s school is poor.
