Very bad school

Do not send your children here, the bullying in this school is out of control. Teachers are horrible and often contribute to bullying rather than stopping it. Both of my children been extremely unhappy at this school.

Do not attend (Seriously, go anywhere else)

The school has security issues, with many students seen brandishing knives and other weapons. Speaking as a former student, very few teachers are actually good and do their job properly without giving you mental trauma. This school does not care for the student's wellbeing and performs many cover ups to prevent anyone from finding out what it's truly like on the inside. I was being harrassed almost daily and when I told a teacher, they said I had to apologise to them. They will only show the good part on open days, and will sometimes force you to do things you don't want to. The detention system is out of order, sometimes making you stay for over three hours after school.

Knives in Lytham High School.

My child was threatened with a knife by a gang of year 10 & 11 students at this school. Despite bringing this serious issue to the attention of the school authorities, no resolution has been reached. What more can I possibly say? The safety and well-being of our children should be the utmost priority, yet they seem to have neglected and dismissed this important matter.

Refused to let me take my exam.

I was denied the opportunity to leave the classroom to take my exam because my teacher deemed it more important to ramble on about "important war stories" and his political views. When I voiced my complaint to the exam staff, I was sent on a wild goose chase, being directed in circles by unhelpful staff members telling me to speak with X, Y, Z, only to end up back where I started. Not one teacher or staff offered any solutions or help.

Did my teacher offer an apology? Absolutely not. My parents reached out, yet they have not received a call back with an apology or any arrangements. It is unacceptable for staff who behave in such an unprofessional manner to be employed at this school. This level of incompetence and disregard is simply intolerable.

LSA, you have given me nothing but stress and I can't wait to finally leave.

Glad Im never coming back.

If you worked or was at pupil this school between 2005-2010. You were mostly likey a homophobic, sexist, narcissistic, POS person who made the learning experience horrible...and bullied those with special needs. I can never forget or forgive the mental issues or the suicide stories you people have caused.

I'm glad I never have to associate with anybody who went to this school ever again. A lot of the teens here ended up on the news for burning people homes, murder attempts, or being depressing druggies.

Do not send your kids here

The main issue with the school was the ignorance, in year 7 I was genuinely so scared to go (due to bullying and lack of friends which I brought up to my college leader but nothing was done at all) that my attendance dropped to 70% and I had teachers come to my house threatening to take me there in a car, not even caring to realise that I skipped due to being terrified. I also had issues with one specific pe teacher who still works there now, who would quite literally bully students who weren't good at pe and favour the ones who were. She gave me dirty looks every time I saw her which looked like she wanted to be sick at the sight of me. Now, my sister attends the school and has also been picked on by this exact teacher, specifically on a school trip where everyone was allowed to visit the shop except my sister for no reason at all, who was shouted at for trying to follow her peers. This teacher made me so scared to attend pe that I would skive off many lessons despite me normally being very interested in sports as a hobby yet she ruined the entire subject for me and made me want to be sick or have panic attacks when I had pe, another factor of this was me being bullied for my weight by someone in my class and ended up having to change in the toilets instead for the rest of the school years.

Don’t care about bullying

The only bad experience I had here is the fact I got bullied for being shy relentlessly and when a group of girls would harass me daily I went and told my teacher and she basically said I must be bullying them too?! and I had to APOLOGISE to them… safe to say this school left me with bad mental health problems so if u don’t want that don’t go👍🏼

The Staff need the important change.

I'm a Former Police Officer, and I have never dealt with a more difficult group of people than the Teachers and Staff at Lytham High School. I have wasted too much of my sparse trying to resolve issues over the years with Fighting, Bullying or Inappropriate Behavior from Students and Staff. I would have to tell adults whom clearly have an attitude problem that they cannot act in a baleful way towards students or parents.

When I wanted to resolve an issue and talk to the teacher for their improper behavior. I would try ask what time is best after school for the discussion. She would gave me the time that's best suited for her. But when I would arrive and wait. She would never show up and it wasn't until a different person that would tell me that she has left and went home on that day. Absolutley wasting mine and other parents time. It is very insulting. I would ask again, but it would either be ignored or I would recieve a spiteful message saying "Im busy". If there was any issues, LSA Teachers were mostly very uncooperative and didn't seem interested in resolving it for safety or benefit for the kids.

Do you have CCTV? "Oh it's not available right now" Do you have any witnesses? "Not with us now" Have they made a confession? "Not yet." How are you certain? "Trust us, we know". Do you have anything useful that could narrow it down or prove you correct? "We'll if you don't believe us, we'll ask around and see if anything new comes up."

It doesn't matter what "restoration" they're planning or how much money they're given. The Staff need the important change.

LSA School have been the most difficult.

No amount of money or restoration thrown at this school will want me to return back or send my lads there ever again. I have wasted too much of my sparse time by going back fourth at this school telling teachers to straighten up and deal with the issues (Bullying, Fights and Unbefitting Teachers). I am a retired Police Officer, and the Teachers have been the most difficult people to work with in my life.

There was an issue with one staff member and I would hear them acting in a questionable way. When I would go try to talk to him/her, they are always "busy" or hiding. I would ask when the best time after school and would give me time. But they would never show up to fix the matter. Wasting my time.

I am not here to play hide and seek. Act like a reasonable adult.

Worst school in Lytham St Annes

This school is terrible. The school only makes itself look good if there are inspectors and as soon as they go the teachers don't care. They don't care about bullying or mental health but if there is a fight they get straight to it. They only care about their outside imagine nothing else. The canteen food is absolutely revolting with children finding black spots in their chicken. They say they are the best school in Lytham St Annes when they are genuinely the worst. Do not send your child here unless you want your child to grow up with PTSD and be spiteful towards you. High school changes people and you couldn't do worse than this one! - From a former student

A Dangerous School

I'm writing not only as a former pupil, but as someone in the company of former staff and teachers. I suffer from mental health issues as an adult and it roots back to this school. I am reminded weekly of the negligence, manipulation, abuse, and poor practices that have occurred during my time in that school.

I've written about my issues with this school multiple times throughout my years. They have either been ignored or wrongly removed. I'm writing this in hopes that it could those help other pupils in this school.

I must remind parents that this school has still got a history of bullying and abuse problem. This school doesn't have one, but TWO suicides attached to it. Friends and parents have reported the issues on multiple occasions and they will likely be ignored and not addressed. Then when the worst news finally appears. They will go into damage control and put on a facade of complete ignorance to the press and media. Promising "policy changes" and an "anti-bullying week", then quickly returning to their old behavior after the media lost interest.

To this day, there is still a problem with abuse, bullying, sexism, homophobia and harassment by not just the pupils. But from teachers and staff. I've had countless kids and teenagers come to tears because teachers will purposely harass and embarrass them in classrooms. One child had their epi-pen taken by a teacher and she refused to give it back.

I've even seen properties (phones, coats, electronics) that were "confiscated" from pupils either being returned damaged or stolen.

It is getting scary now that recently a shop near the Lytham High School reported seeing teenagers with the LSA uniform brandishing knives and sharp objects. I am not joking when I am terrified of stepping back anywhere near that school when I heard that.

That's the big problem. I have seen nearly most of the teachers and staff in this school have zero compassion, zero excitement, zero enthusiasm, and zero care for their profession. I understand being a teacher is a hard job. But they need to understand that this isn't just any job, but an important role in our future and their future. I have seen teachers just enter a classroom, give their pupils a bunch of questions to complete for an hour, and just sit by their computer completely detaching themselves from the class.

Do not believe the Ofsted Review, as teachers will spend weeks preparing for the inspectors or a special guest visit. Promising pupils a free day if they act well-behaved. When the inspectors arrived, staff and teachers would change their attitude and behavior in the classroom. When the inspectors left, the teachers would just slap on The Simpsons for kids to watch and return to their old ways.

These are a few of the issues that I have witnessed and experienced at this school. I could talk about some pupils, teachers and staff with narcissist and megalomaniac traits who've done a load of damage and got away with it. Anyone who has been a victim of this school, I apologize greatly and hope those who have wronged you never step back onto school property ever again.

90% of peoples experience

Don’t do anything for students until it’s too late. Don’t act on their “no bullying” act at all. They just shove it under the rug until a fight breaks out. Bad school and 50% of staff don’t actually care about the students

Good but could improve

Since my daughter started LSA, she has enjoyed being there she has encountered a few issues but they were dealt with. Some school rules are a bit extreme like my daughter was told to take her second set of earrings out because they were distracting and because she died her hair in the summer holidays it has to go back to her natural colour.
