I worked here during 2023 through an agency, the nursery staff and early years are not very professional.
It was the first nursery I had experienced where children who have contagious sicknesses are not sent home straight away, putting staff and children at risk. Staff are still expected to come in when sick. This would then be on-going sicknesses that could be managed better.
Apart from this, the South Asian nursery teacher was good but did not listen to feedback.
There were other instances-professionalism were not met such as not being completely transparent and open communication (even with parents) which needed improving. The provisions for SEN were limited i.e. sensory toys and not really inclusion which at nursery level would be beneficial e.g. during circle snack time or play partnering.
Even the SENCO to long term staff were not introduced or not made aware where to find them if need be even when working with vulnerable children. I hope this has changed as I had fed this back to the team during the time but again, this is the bare minimum and should have already been put in place.
