Lots of bullying when I was at this school. Bullying was brutal and relentless. If you were different in any way, you were targeted ruthlessly.
Not saying that nobody was nice - there were a handful who were consistently nice. But sadly, I also knew a few kids who started off nice, and ended up giving in to peer pressure and being mean.
I would say the majority of pupils were either picking on people or getting picked on.
I am not saying this in a hateful way, as I know for a fact that a number of kids (now adults) who upset me when we were at school have been really nice to me now that we are all grown up. With some of them, I think it was just peer pressure. So I hold no grudges against them. We have all moved on with our lives.
I get the impression that there are others (probably not a lot, but some) who, unlike the people I referred to above, still have a mean streak and would still make snide remarks at someone, given the chance.
I thought this review would be helpful if you are looking for a school for your child, or if you are a new pupil in the Lossiemouth area, or whose parents are planning to move there.
Most schools have an element of bullying, however I know about other schools, and know people who went to other schools in Scotland - and elsewhere in the UK - at the same time I was at Lossie High, and they were shocked, because their schools had much less bullying.
Some great teachers when I was there, who I am thankful for - but some were awful - sarcastic and unhelpful.
The bullying was not tackled properly.
I was at this school a long time ago, but heard from others not long ago that bullying was still an issue. So sad.
Teachers don’t deal with fights or Bullying that much even the new building is shite under the stairs there’s holes and still a lot of fighting and kids are just disrespectful
Horrible some teachers are nice but when you got issues they just want you to keep quiet and pretend it’s ok. They don’t do anything about anything but some teachers are ok and some teachers do help but not all
