My autistic brother was going through diagnosis whilst attending their pre-school and they could not handle him so they locked him in rooms on his own, yelled at him and complained when he took a small bite from some staff member for restraining him. When we took him there they stated they could deal with him and reassured us he was in the right place. If it wasn't for the windows his mother would not have seen him being locked away in rooms and punished for being himself. She was simply there to pick him up after the school called her to do so and could see how the staff was treating her own son through the windows. He was luckily pulled out of the school before anything worse happened so I don't know how they would have treated him in their primary school but I do have a close friend (female) who attended until secondary school who claims the school was also awful to them. This person also has autism and was warned of both of the children's diagnosis of autism even when ongoing. They had no reason to treat their own students this way even if it weren't because of diagnosis they are still children. The female also witnessed bad bullying of children being dragged across the playground by each other and the staff did absolutely nothing the majority of the time and if they did something it was much.
