worst school i’ve been to

i have never been to such a horrible and disgusting school in all my life i was there from year 7 to mid way through year 11 but i left because of how horrible it was. the food is overpriced and not cooked properly i payed £2.30 for a tiny bottle of water.
the bullying there is outrageous and not only do they let kids bully they let teachers bully too i was threatened by a member of staff in the spectrum twice and got sent home for no reason. they would constantly pick on children there and harass them. they would put kids in isolation for wearing a tiny bit of lip gloss and would put locks on the bathroom doors taking human rights away. they would treat girls like subjects by constantly harassing them for their skirt and socks. during pe you would get picked on if you wasent fit enough or good enough for their standards i am so happy my mum isn’t sending my brother or sister there that school is unbelievably discusting.
they go around saying that the girls skirts are too short on knee high yet they have six formers going round with skirts up to their buts.
it makes no sense.
they act nice and cover the bad bits about the school up but trust me this school is hell
DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!

Awful school - there are better alternatives

I went here a few years ago but I wasn't here for long. Seen so much awful bullying towards other students and towards SEN (special education need) pupils. Teachers have their favourite students and make remarks on others. The entire environment was unadmirable and hostile. Food area wasn't that big either and resulted in large queues with every student coming out at the same time so you couldn't really get anything decent to eat by the time you was served.

The school doesn’t support you if you have mental health problems as it takes up too many resources for them - they just turn a blind eye and expect you to get on with the work.

Not really sure what teachers and what leadership team work here now, but awful experience when I went. Better decision to just find a competent school for your child somewhere else, good luck

Bullying is out of control

The school will outright say a disabled child's belief they are being bullied is all in their head when a group of students will leer and point at them the moment they
arrive in the car park.
Expecting discipline against bullying is like waiting for a table to get up and walk off. If you value your child's safety, stay away.

Specialist needs

School does not make allowances for children with adhd/autism and believes that punishment is the only way forward despite my child having a medicated diagnosed condition....

Amazing school

It's good, I started recently, most y7 are friendly (y9 and 10 can be a bit nasty but u get used to it) Food is to die for, enough drama goes on to keep life exciting but learning is always going on.

Some feel as though they are no1 and the school should disregard what it stands for and let it addaped around them, but u need to addaped to the school.

Experience at Longfield

Going to Longfield Academy isn’t the most best moment of my life. I was never good at subjects, I was different and being different to other people wasn’t the best thing in school. They became more inclusive to other people even setting up their own lgbtq+ club which was great. And it became a better school.

I do not recommend Longfield academy

Didn't care abt mental health.
They had safe guarding because of me.
The head teacher is obnoxious.
Most of the teachers can't teach.
It's a really bad school

They do not care about mental health. They put up a support team. But I am trying to move schools due to mental health. And they say they cannot help me bc "they don't do that there" I do not recommend going to Longfield academy if u have bad mental health

Not Recommended - Please read

Do not recommend this school, the amount of homework they sandblast you with is unbelievable and if you forget to do one of those you get a straightaway afterschool detention AND they ring your parents to tell them making it seem like its the end of the world, so you got the school on your case. your parents up ur arse constantly reminding you so it feels like you never get away from that building.

honestly the amount of pressure that is put on you during your gcse years is immeasurable with the teachers constantly reminding you that this about your gcse's combined with the 4 different websites to keep track of and do your home work with additional homework sheets then add a sprinkle of the feeling of impending doom and failure with a monsoon of pressure from your parents saying I have no goals or ambition and I need to get a career otherwise ill be a "yobbo".

The school itself is way too open and is apparently supposed to prevent bullying but now it gives you no privacy. 3 plazas, Anderson, Matisse, and Galileo all of which connect to one giant curved hallway. When there are tests in the Assembly hall the whole school of 1000 students has to funnel through a stairway which is about 6ft in width. I honestly wish I took a picture of this because Its absolutely ridiculous, Its like a rave because everyone is so huddled up and pushing and shoving, not to mention the Covid-19 restrictions it broke. Then you got the upstairs Galileo hallway which connects to the Library which would allow you to cross the whole school upstairs is blocked off for no f---ing reason so if you were in upstairs Galileo and needed to get to Upstairs Anderson you would need to go downstairs first, get to downstairs Anderson then head upstairs when I could've just walked along the upstairs hallway which is blocked off, again for no reason and then the teachers give you a negative point for being late. Like b---. I'm not even scratching the surface of how dumb this school is. Like the chairs for example are made so its uncomfortable as possible, one science classroom even has no backs on the chairs at all because someone damaged a chair, it so dumb. They punish everyone for something one person done, its because they are too lazy to catch the culprit.

Lessons like PSHE are pointless, The teachers put up videos and PowerPoints and make you write it down, They even had a mental health slideshow and video which everyone laughed at because children are immoral. They dont help the people in the classes with mental health problems it just shows how being different in a place like Longfield Academy can get you bullied.

That's all I'm writing of this dump.

Not the best school.

my experience at this school has been not the best.
They don't seem to understand what mental health is and that sometimes people need a break from school. I once got given so much homework that I was doing it since I got home 4:30 to 9:00 at night. If you want your child to go to a school that makes them mentally exhausted and mentally ill then go ahead and send your child here. Ever since the old head teacher left the schools been a mess. This school used to be amazing but now its just ok.

A school that breeds a lack of discipline

If you care about your kids don't send them to any Academy under Leigh Trust. I've been attacked, had police police reports filed and had people harass me, my parents, people I know. The school do less than the bare minimum. The way it works is if you're a repeat offender they let you get away with anything but if you're a majoritively good student, you're punished for any wrong doings immensely. It pays to misbehave. I defended myself against a group of students attacking me and got the same punishment. As for teachers, the school is so bad that any new teachers leave after 1-3 years so the only consistent teachers are the miserable old lot who can't be bothered to find a new job or are too old or to be employed anywhere else and subsequently, are always so depressed and absolutely boring and grouchy and subsequently, made us, the students, depressed and grouchy. It just kills any ability to learn. I started with expected grades of 8s for every subject (A*) and came out with 7 4s (C's). That didn't just happen. The school actively got worse and worse as time went on. Even my head of college said that there's no place for me here and I should go to college because the environment wouldn't do me any favours. I lost my ability to socialise, learn, be creative and left feeling like I'd lost more than I'd gained. I still get anxiety walking past the building or seeing familiar faces in public even though it's been a couple of years and the social skills and charisma I lost at Longfield have since partially returned. I've spoken to people who still attend and have left more recently and it's apparently gotten worse. Furthermore, I've spoken to kids from the Leigh Academy and they've had knife threats. If you value, care about and love your kids, you won't send them to any school under Leigh Trust. Simple.

It's an okay - alright school

It was okay in my last year. But prior, it wasn't good, some teachers were appalling, one year I had 14 supplies for one lesson and about 6 the next year, also some of the lessons and teachers didn't make the class feel comfortable at all, some would just go on a 15 minute moaning spree and others didn't really care. I've also witnessed unfair scenarios where someone stands up for themselves after months of being harassed only to be given the same or even worse punishment than the abuser. So overall, not the best, not the worst.

No do not go here please I absolutely beg you

I just finished year 11, I joined this school in year 9 and I have come out with 2 new CYMPHS diagnosis’ PTSD and Emotional Dysregulation. I believe my traumatic experience at this school is not exaggerated and I do not suggest you bring your children up at this school. I have autism and an anxiety disorder and also suicidal thoughts and acts and deliberate self harm diagnosis’ and for my time at this school I was using the Special educational resources centre which had “trained” SEN teachers and assistants. I say “trained” because that’s how they spoke of themselves but respectfully, I have to disagree with this statement. They don’t listen to you. This is my main problem because they always tell you how “were here for you, we will listen” but they don’t. It’s horrible. I had multiple cut urges at this school and I do not recommend. The teachers are beyond strict with their power. They abuse their powerful rights to belittle us children with special educational needs. They make it seem like a wonderful, supporting school. But my stay here has been the worst secondary school I have been to. I have been to 2 other secondary schools before this, and I must say this is the worst. I’ve been bullied by students in the past schools but in this school it’s teachers. My form tutor for year 11, who is also a SEN teacher, straight up called me an “Arsehole” in front of the class full of ASD children and when I try to explain my anxiety and feelings she talks over me in a rude manner such as “ Bla bla bla “ she says “ you lack commensense” and on multiple occasions tells me to “shut up” and not talk over her when I try to explain my disabilities. What did I do wrong? The teachers constantly sit on their laptops and hardly teach the lesson, they just put a PowerPoint up and try to guide you through it but they usually just ignore me like I’m not even in the classroom.
On November 18th 2020 I was excluded for having an emotional breakdown where I was having spasms and couldn’t breathe and my heart was palpitating and it was all uncontrollable, and it was all because of my form tutor that this occurred(she sat in my seat at the back which is mentioned in my EHCP I have to sit there but she knew this and triggered my ASD on purpose to perform a scene). The fire alarm went off during and all the teachers were telling me to “put my issues aside” but you can’t tell someone with ASD and all these other disabilities to do that, it isn’t possible! I was later given a fixed-term exclusion which my mum and I, r currently fighting to get rid of on my school records. I tried multiple times to call my mum during this breakdown I was having at school, however my form tutor kept shouting at me in my face making me scared. I recently noticed in my classes when it goes silent, I hear the fire alarm ringing in my ears and a phone ringing at the same time coming from the left direction. I believe this is because I really needed my mums support and needed that phone to ring but the school was against me and the teachers said they can’t “action phone call home” but that is not on their policy or code of conduct. There was snot all over my form tutor’s desk on accident because this is how bad the breakdown was. I wasn’t coping. But the school refused my as a student with rights request to call my parents to pick me up. It seems as if this school is more like a cult and prison because a child can’t go home if suffering unless it effects others. Their compassion is fake.

Unfortunately I’m staying on for sixth form if I can because I won’t let those teachers ruin my education like they have. I’m staying because I’m used to the school layout and I can’t commit to change very easily nor quickly. 3 SEN teachers all ganged up on me and said that “I won’t get anywhere in life I won’t get the grades” but I am currently waiting for my results and have been given a rough estimate and: English literature is grade 7 or 8 or 9 English language is 7 or 8 and my art is 5 - 9 my Spanish is 4 geography 4 - 6 maths 4 - 7 though science is ungraded because I wasn’t given enough time to do that GCSE. So I guess I proved those rude arrogant teachers wrong. They shouldn’t be working with children if all their going to do is downgrade them. I am mentally mortified and I am currently writing a book about my experience. Good luck. Don’t send your kids here I am serious. I wouldn’t have spent all this time writing this if I wasn’t serious.

For extra notes: my form tutor bashed me into the Centre opening gates as I was leaving the school to get the bus on purpose because she was angry with me

Teachers are nice but strict and it gives like a good environment for you to grow up in with enough drama but also enough learning
