Had a very disappointing and upsetting experiencing when my son attended multiple taster sessions for an application into pre-school. My son has special needs which were fully outlined prior to the sessions, and I was assured by the teachers that they had first-hand experience and willingness to provide support. The first two taster sessions went well, however during the last session we were called to come and collect our son as he was having a bad day. Upon arriving, I was handed my son at the gate with the words "it’s not going to work, we do not have the resource to support you". There was zero compassion or consideration towards how this would make a parent of a SEN child feel, let alone how my child felt. I was not even told how my sons day went.
Later that day we received an email from the school confirming they are not willing to accept our son as they cannot support his needs - without any further feedback or advice. When asked for a follow up call to discuss they ignored my email.
I strongly discourage parents of SEN children from considering this school. They have no willingness or resource to support and show zero empathy towards SEN children or their parents.
