The school does not care about there students. And it is obvious, starting off with phone rules i understand that in lessons it distracts but during breaks and lunches? Or after and before school? I was texting my mom who had got into a accident and they tried taking my phone and when i refused i got a refocus. They dont care about learning or students they rather listen to there rules. And there is more and more to go on about but I'm not listing all.
Don’t listen to any of your problems when you really need help there not there the just care about your uniform I tried to speak to them about something really personal and important and the told me to go back to class and sort your leggings out
As a new member to the school, i have had a short problem with bullying. This girl from my old school claimed i bullied her and turned a group of kids against me. when my mum told the school all they did was talk to her about it. Also, u have witnessed someone get refocus (isolation) and an hour detention for sticking their tounge out, and witnessed someone get a 30 minute for shoving someone THAT lightly, they didn’t even move their feet.
They don't care about their students at all. Like if you had a card to go to pastoral they'll pick and choose who they punish. If you aren't throwing chairs and swearing at teachers you get nothing. Also, I'm a trans person like the other person who left a review, and they are very correct. I've been requesting things ever since i got there yet it's been three years and still nothing. Also the teachers deadname you even when they haven't been there long enough to know it and have no reason to have looked at medical records. They misgender you until your parents are there. Fucking cowards i swear..
TW: Suicide references, bullying.
I joined the school when I was in Year 7 but ended up leaving when I was in Year 9. This was due to relentless bullying: I got no support at all from any of the teachers or even from more senior members of staff. When myself and my Dad had a meeting with the school, my HOY (Head of Year) claimed that he ‘had no idea’ I was being bullied. By talking to other previous students at the school, apparently they used that excuse all the time to pass the blame off of their shoulders. Students hit me, made rumours up about me, tripped me up, kept tapping me and many more horrible things and eventually it led to students telling me to take my own life. The punishment for these students was not effective- a day in isolation. They did not apologise and this experience still haunts me today. Also, the Head Teacher at the time, accused me of having a ‘fight’ with another girl, and humiliated me in front of the whole school by making me stand by myself on the playground at lunch time. Little did he know, it was not a ‘fight’, even though it may have looked like it as there was such a huge crowd, but people were indeed standing around and tormenting me. We had a meeting with the girl the next day and there were no apologies and I told the Head Teacher I wanted to move schools. My time at the school caused an onset of mental health problems such as depression and anxiety that I still suffer with now, and I became extremely suicidal during my time at the school. I did, at the time, also have undiagnosed autism, and the school filled in an ‘evidence pack’ as well as my parents, but it got turned down due to ‘lack of evidence’ from the school. The school’s knowledge of autism and general knowledge of its own students was very poor. There was little to no support for students with special educational needs at this school. Eventually, I moved to another school and I have never looked back. Ofsted reports state that ‘bullying is rare’ and ‘students feel safe and happy in school’: however when I was there the teachers always told us to ‘be on our best behaviour’, and chose popular students to talk to the inspectors, knowing that they had no issues in school. This school lies and so many students have suffered or are currently suffering with bullying. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. Do your research of past student experiences, like mine.
It isn't actually that accepting if you are trans like me. For example if you tried to change your name on the register they'd not change it on all of them. Also everyone gets away with saying slurs that they can't reclaim yet god help me someone rolls their skirt.
