Terrible
This school is terrrible!! My daughter is now in year 11 and since she started this school it’s been terrible. Teachers (SLT) (Welbeing team) care more about what there wearing and piercings more than there education. My daughter had trouble in year 9 with a teacher that resulting in that teacher grabbing more daughter that teacher has now left the school but my daughter still had the blame for it got excluded and isolation when returning. In year 9 and 10 for English they went through supply teachers that wasn’t teaching them nothing and then had to sit there exams not knowing anything. In year 10 and year 11 teachers are constantly trying to bag search her over groups of kids vaping in the toilets but my daughter is the one getting searched even if she’s in there or not 2 times miss Harding have accused her of having illegal substances on her the first time my daughter agreed to the search not exactly having the option to now last week they tried searching her my daughter said no as it was no need for the search and my daughter felt they were doing it for the sake of it because of this they then excluded her for 2 days we had the return to school meeting and miss Harding sat there saying because my daughter has expensive clothes she’s a drug dealer she also tried keeping her after school for the search without informing home so my daughter left at half 2. It’s constantly something happening at school over ridiculous reasons I’ve had meeting after meeting with the head miss Harding and she is a bitch from the way she speaks to how she looks at you. No is doing anything about it all that school does is threat after threat if my daughter won’t go to a lesson over a certain reason the school will try make her if she doesn’t cause nothing is getting sorted she’s in isolation or exclusion. I don’t recommend sending your daughter her as it’s terrible miss Harding don’t care about anyone but herself what so ever she knows what will wind kids up. She’s told my daughter to shut up also while shouting but hates my daughter if she has a attitude or is angry and miss Harding seems to think it’s okay as she’s apologised!!!!!

They care more about my clothes and appearance than my education. In what world will coloured hair distract my education?! Never go to this school please. I’d rather be trans and go to Lewis boys than ever go to Lewis girls
Do not come to this school
This school is horrible. They do not do anything about bullying. Even though they have a whole area demoted to well-being and students mental health, they don’t actually do anything to help. I’ve heard many things of people explaining how they went there needing help and they were sent away being called an attention seeker or something else along those lines. I have also experienced this. Ms H Harding, the current head teacher, has repeatedly called students an attention seeker and so has Ms A Dent, the assistant head I believe. I understand how stressful it is to be a teacher and have to look after so many students. They do not respect students or their privacy and boundaries. Ms A Dent constantly is screaming at other teachers and students. The way that students are treated in this school is not okay. Some teachers in this school are lovely but that doesn’t make up for other things that go on. Students have been locked in boiling hot offices and have been told they aren’t allowed to leave for no good reason. Teachers are refusing to let students leave their classroom because of minor situations that could have been dealt with or full on avoided. The well-being team, mainly Ms A Dent, refuses to help students and completely undermines and degrades the students mental wellbeing.
Year 7 and hate it
I have recently started this school this year.and I had a bad experience.on the second week I was walking down the hall and people put gum in my hair,they did ask who was it but I didn’t see them.sometimes when I walk though halls I only sometimes fat shamed but it doesn’t really affect me anymore.I would love to mention a few teachers for being really iconic in our school but can’t really say it on here.i know there’s people who have severe mental health issues from a lack of support but there’s not much I can do. All I recommend is to probably go afon taff.
The wellbeing team
I believe one of the biggest issues with this school is its wellbeing team. I speak on behalf of many individuals as well as myself when I say that most of the time, they do not help. I have had wellbeing staff make hurtful comments towards me proving that some of them truly don't know how to pick their words wisely. They continue to do this all the while claiming to offer 'support' and 'comfort' when needed. I have had countless other individuals in this school mention how they felt mistreated by certain wellbeing staff and how that negatively affected their mental health. Personally, after my experiences with the wellbeing team, I have found myself nervous and sometimes scared around them. That is not an exaggeration. So many people in that school have been made to feel vulnerable and uncomfortable by the wellbeing team and it is not okay.
I'd like add that this doesn't apply to every wellbeing staff, only a few, most of them are amazing people that truly earned a place in that team.

my view on the school as being an ex student
nothing but a shambles of a school.only ever helped and praised the kids that had the good brains.no teachers are helpful, to get a reply back off the school is impossible especially when you need it the most.i do not recommend the school and i most definitely wouldn’t put my kids in there in the future
Want severe mental health? Attend this school.
Firstly, the standard of this school is below average. This accounts for teaching, results, attendance, options at higher levels, participation and diversity. I have been a pupil at LGS since 2018, and I haven’t enjoyed a single year here. I’m aware that everyone hates school, but there is always some element of enjoyment alongside this hatred- not for me. I speak on the behalf on my younger sibling at the school, and many of my peers too. I believe this is largely due to the fact that the school system in the UK is fractured and is diminishing by the year. Lewis Girls doesn’t help matters by being a diminished institution that’s long overdue anyway. This “school” has driven so many of my peers into extremely poor mental health situations. I’ve also experienced this. There have been many occasions where I have almost resorted to some very tragic and extreme measures because of the treatment of this school. I speak for many.
In terms of extracurriculars, there are none. They run for a few weeks and the P.E teacher decides that she’s had enough. This happens with actual lessons too. The school barely participated in other sports and many of us are left with less opportunities than other schools. This is the case with any other extracurricular. There either are none, or they only run for a very short time. The effort given by the teachers is appalling.
Regarding the general standard of teaching, the bar is set very low. There are at least 2 decent teachers that I can think of. The rest are terrible. Most of us question how they even landed a job in education. There have also been many incidents where a teacher has spoken out of terms, or voiced very harmful and negative opinions. For some backwards reason, he is still employed. This happens quite a lot. Most things are just brushed under the rug.
I’ve completed Year 1 of my GCSE’s and I’d like to warn anyone coming to this hell of a school that you should get out before year 10! Being one of the most challenging years, the teachers have been there less and less. Many didn’t come to school for months, didn’t bother teaching us, or set everything as homework and expected us to get A*.
I wish I had moved when I had the chance.
I completely taught myself the whole syllabus for my GCSE’s-in every subject this year. So did everyone I know. We weren’t taught anything by the teachers who are employed to do so. It was all down to us. It has left many of my friends seek counselling and mental health services due to the immense stress that we are under.
I am absolutely dreading Year 11. My English teacher is putting pressure on me to stay for sixth form, but that is an absolute no. I am getting out of here at the first chance I get. I always wanted to do my A levels in sixth form, but after these 4 years of absolute suffering, I can’t wait to be rid of this place. Most of us are going to college and never looking back.
This absolute cesspit of a school has granted me insomnia, depression, anxiety and emotional detachment from myself and others. There would be days where I would go to school with no sleep and nothing in my stomach because I couldn’t keep my breakfast down due to how anxious I felt about attending school.
Please listen to this. I am not exaggerating any details. I speak from my own experiences.
I am rating my academic score as high and the school can’t take credit for that because they didn’t teach me anything :)

Worst school
The school is absolutely pathetic. They don't do anything about bullying. My appearance is more important than my education. Worst school about! the people here are bitchy and the teachers don't care.

one of the worst comprehensive schools in south wales. as it is an all girls school its highly bitchy and half the teachers don’t care what you do in school, no teachers help with bullying no matter who you go to. the worst part is they gave a year 11 english class a supply teacher for an entire year which caused a lot of them to fail their english gcse. if you want to send your child to a school please don’t send them here my little sister got bullied within the first week of year 7 and the school did nothing about it no matter how much we tried. i wouldn’t recommend you sending your daughter here as it was one of the worst 5 years of my life.
