Latchmere is a really lovely school, in a nice part of Kingston upon Thames. They good facilities, teachers and staff are all nice and it just has a good feel about it. It is a large school (900 pupils) but it doesn't feel that big. There is a pool in school which is a big advantage. They have a special resource provision for Autistic children which is nice to have. Only one of two schools with that SRP in the Kingston area.
Our son is in Year 5 and has been attending Latchmere since Year 3. From the moment he started, he has absolutely enjoyed the school, and we are thrilled with the progress he’s made both academically and personally. The teaching staff are wonderful, and the school's facilities, including the swimming pool and the green space nearby, make Latchmere truly special in the area. The strong sense of community among parents, staff, and volunteers creates a supportive environment that helps us feel more connected to the school. We are very happy with Latchmere and highly recommend it!
We have had a great experience for both our children attending Latchmere from nursery to year 6. The school facilities are second to none in the borough for primary schools. The teachers are hard working, patient, kind and building rapports with other state and private schools in the area. The varied demographic of families that go to Latchmere means that whatever background, religion or culture you belong to, you are included and welcomed. We have 2 children who are completely opposite - one sporty and musical and the other academic and shy. Both children have been helped by the staff to exceed their goals and achieve great results in everything they participate in. The leadership team are open to conversations about improvements to the school and the head teacher is always available to speak with and visits each class to spend time with the children weekly. Latchmere also organise many external speakers to visit the school and educate the children, such as the Mayor, authors, Olympians etc. Our children have developed happy, safe and close friendships with like minded children and always have positive reports about their days at Latchmere School. We couldn’t ask for more.
A great primary school in North Kingston, fab location for pre and post school playground visits. We chose Latchmere in 2018 and it has not disappointed since! A great community of parents and teachers who work together to be the best. Brilliant facilities, pool, large playgrounds with a variety of equipment and play zones such as a woodland and quiet zone. Reading nooks, exercise equipment, light airy classrooms and a pirate ship, what more could a child want in Primary!
Our children are now in y3 & y5, they are both very happy as are we.

Latchmere is a wonderful school! My daughter is always happy to go to school and she has loved each and every teacher that has taught her to date. Latchmere teaches students in an accessible and fun manner and the resources are excellent.
Having been with the school for the last three years, we are increasingly fond of the Latchmere community. The headteacher is not only efficient at managing the school, but she is one of the kindest and most supportive person that all the children adore; and most importantly a highly effective communicator who deals with all issues and concerns with speed and care. The class teachers have high academic expectations of the children and work hard to enable the children’s potential. The teachers are strict when strictness is due, for example during class crowd control and academic lessons, but the school atmosphere is flexible and not by-the-book rigid, there is a humane factor in the way management deals with issues. Swimming lessons on site are great and we are lucky to have a brilliant team of swimming instructors. The school also benefit from a wealth of facilities which enables children to play using various segregated playgrounds with age-appropriate equipments, ensuring that younger children are sufficiently challenged in their own space and not at risk of mixing with older children’s play equipment. Latchmere School, despite her large size, looks after every pupil and we feel her kindness and her warmth.
Latchmere is a fantastic school which cares for and nurtures the children. The head teacher is on the gate every morning and knows all children (and most parents) by name which is impressive given the size of the school. Would highly recommend.
My eldest daughter has been so happy starting at Latchmere. The breadth of experiences they are exposed to is great. The atmosphere is fun and respectful of each other. The availability of extra curricular activities is really broad and the wrap around care is well organised. The teachers are skilled and really seem to care for the children. We are very happy with our choice of school.
