I am a current parent at Langley School with children at both the Prep and Senior Schools. Both of the schools are incredibly nurturing and full of opportunities for the children. The teaching is second to none and the teachers truly care for our children. My children are absolutely thriving at Langley and I would highly recommend the school to anyone.
Our daughter has been at Bluebell Nursery at Langley School (on the Prep School campus in Taverham, Norfolk) since she was one and now, almost three years old, she is thriving in the wonderfully nurturing environment. We cannot praise the staff enough, as they are so caring and kind to all the children in the care. The attention to detail that goes into every activity is really special - everything they do at Nursery is thought-out, with development clearly at the centre of it all. Our daughter's speech and language, confidence and curiosity have all absolutely excelled at Bluebell Nursery. We can't wait for her to continue up to Langley Pre-Prep when the time comes.
Teaching and care that is tailored to each child: brilliant.
My daughter was a pupil at Langley School until July 2024. She joined the school part way through the school year about 4-5 years prior. I can honestly say that the school has changed the course of her life. She had serious confidence issues and thought she would never make it to the university of her choice. The staff at Langley were amazing with her; breaking new experiences down into more easily accessible chunks and supporting her on the subjects that triggered her low confidence. She's now doing her dream course at university and her confidence levels are amazing. I can't thank the staff enough for their approach and for their care for her.
To keep it short and sweet, I left langley at age 16 in 2010. I gained great skills and have some fond memories, however, as a person that had an irregular and relatively tough upbringing, langley was probably quite a poor choice. My parents to blame also, but the school had no knowledge of how to help students with clear mental health problems. Failures to see depression, anxiety and adhd. In fact, due to lack of individualism that was allowed, I'm sure it gave the teachers more of a reason to treat kids as just "bad" as opposed to trying to help them. Very poor common sense with the teachers at langley 15 years ago. Right from wrong is what matters, there is no room for context.
Going to langley, if you have a "normal" child should be a wonderful experience, and I still think of it fondly. However if your child is showing clear signs that they are struggling ie aggression, quietness, naughty, rude, abusive, then maybe langley is not the best place for them. Langley like people to fall into line, and unfortunately for me, with adhd anxiety and depression, langley made it a much harder road to recovery than needed. Well done, you can teach me business studies, but you're all just normal teachers that have no training in helping an individual. Dangerous when you charge that much. Big up chris cooper. Rip gg.
Not sure what the reviews below are referencing - nothing of their experiences ring true for us and I feel a bit staggered reading them. Perhaps a different school? Our children have thrived at Langley - it has been exactly the kind of nurturing environment we wanted for our son in particular. They are different children having had a mixed experience at a former Prep. Kind, encouraging and trying to excel in a non-selective environment. Just brilliant, really.
Horrific lack of care from headmaster and false advertisement
Headmaster has ruined the school. Dropped 7 of their a-level subjects due to "lack of students" despite having them available for the last 6th formers. School is run terribly with lack of communication. Science teacher almost burned the lab down in 2022 after leaving the room while teaching a practical, resulting in 3 fire engines and ambulances being called. Working treatment towards the staff is appalling and its no wonder why the passion has been lost. Meetings to discuss lack of education or treatment result in a nonchalant attitude from any senior leadership and lack of motivation to improve the school. Advertisement of luscious grounds is false as students are never allowed to use them. Main building that is shown on photos is off limit to students as they learn in insecure and degrading temporary shoebox buildings. Prices are ridiculous for the experience we are getting. If I could give the customer service and treatment towards parents, students and teachers a 0 star rating then I sure would. Disgusted with the state the school is heading towards.
If I could give -5 stars I would. Absolute appalling school. Not worth the money. They are in major debt. They'll say what you want to hear. Never do anything about a problem. If you go here your money will be wasted. They lowered the grades for sixth form as everyone was failing. The same teacher will teach a few lessons and be inexperienced. A child was stabbed there and it is no surprise! Avoid at all costs. Giving one star is too much!
Terrible school . No help with bullying . Broke their side of the contract and did not provide a safe enviroment . Educational standards were low . Pupils grades went down at Langley . Nothing positive can be said . There is no accountability - do not waste your money
My son who has had a very difficult time was offered a place he has tried hard to turn his problems around he really was looking forward to being given a chance .,, today we were told there is no place after he was offered one I’d call that more than a slap in the face for a young man trying
