Awful school, bullying is awful, lack of suitable teachers and support
Qems is just something else.
There isn't many memorable good things about this school., probably like a few of the teachers like one of the people teachers who was my head of year for example. He was one of the best teachers I had. But thats where the good stop. The school is terrible, if you have to send you child to qems then go for it, but don't be surprised if they don't like it. They'd rather spend loads of money on usless things than supply their teachers with a resources nessasery to educate their students. They'll make you spend stupid amounts of money on their horrbale uniforms. Whilst I was there we never had the same head teacher for very long. Once one of them was so bad they people protested to get her gone.
So if qems isn't your only choice go else where, save your sanity and grades.

Average, some poor teachers.
The school is an average, bog standard high school. I wouldn’t recommend attending QEMS if you’re looking for good teachers with a lot of experience because if you’re not in a top set class, you’ll be given a relatively bad teacher. Inside the main building, the conditions are quite old and plain, they could do with an upgrade. When I was there, I did notice that some toilets have CCTV in them and the positioning of them would suggest they could see into the cubicles which I believe is illegal? My sibling who attends there currently has also told me that you can no longer attend the toilet during lessons and have to “hold it in” until break or lunch unless you have a “toilet pass”, which I think is disgusting considering there’s as young as 11 year olds who may not be able to control bladder or may be starting a new development of maturing. The school as a whole has gradually gotten worse as the teachers who do not have great control of authority act as if they are the head teachers of the school. A lot of teachers are more focused on having power than actually teaching students valuable knowledge. Like I said, unless your child is fortunately viewed as smart, passed their SATS and streamed into a high set, the teachers will be bad and provide little academic knowledge.
Your well-being and mental health will also be ignored, there is a student support team however, if you do not appear to be the stereotypical, misbehaving student, then they will not help you. I reached out for help before, I had one conversation with a member of staff and they never followed up on it again, despite me feeling suicidal, so make sure you check on your children, including if they are being bullied because QEMS will most likely not pick up on it.

The problem comes from staff retention. Older, more expensive, less malleable teachers, with more teaching experience and learnt skills are forced out. The Science and Mathematics departments have been decimated in recent years by bullying by SLT or pay increase refusal - or both.
A good gauge of whether a school is a good place to work is teacher retention. By tis measure Landau Forte QEMS is best avoided at all costs.
