I am a former year 10 student at Lambeth Academy.
My experience at Lambeth academy was horrific. I was scared everyday to walk into school and did not feel safe.
I am a autistic person and when me, my parents, my social worker and CAMHS would ask for support to help me Lambeth academy didn’t help at all and even when they would say that they will accommodate my support needs they never would.
Along with this I was severely bullied/abused on the school site during school hours by a student in my class. Although it happened in front of teachers and I would get physically hurt everyday in the school building and in front of teachers, no one ever said anything. Even when my parents would ask the teachers to look out for me to check in that I was safe in school, no one would do so. This abuse carried on for 11/12 months.
I started self harming and my self esteem decreased rapidly and my anxiety and depression increased significantly however Lambeth academy continued to ignore my mental health and not offer any support.
In April 2021, my head of year, contacted my mum saying “x is accusing a student of abuse” and even after I told her the whole story she didn’t reply with any sort of support and comfort. My head of year just made me feel very guilty and I felt ignored and alone.
Lambeth academy is a terrible school that does not care about students, students mental health, students safety and SEN students. This school does not deserve to say “we bring out the best in everyone”
