I enjoyed my experience at Kingsmead, and so has my cousins now. Kingsmead really have been working on pushing their students to perform their best - honestly one of the best high schools in the area
A school that has the pupils at the centre of everything they do. Always thinking of ways to improve, innovate and develop further. An outstanding school!
Kingsmead is an excellent school which is evidenced through its results- in the top 5 for the whole of Staffordshire but more than that they develop each student individually . It’s enrichment programme is so diverse to meet student needs . The children’s well being is paramount , the farm helps a lot with this in addition to their professional councillors . Their shows are so professional and they are always willing to listen to the children. If you can get your son / daughter into here you are one of the lucky ones as it continues to be oversubscribed year on year . Well fine Kingsmead .
Kingsmead - a school of first choice. Consider a school that has its very own animals, zip lines and inflatables. A school where students take charge of their own learning and know where their gaps in knowledge are. Or where National Theatre scholarships are achieved, with sell out school shows and regular performing art concerts are common. Look no further than Kingsmead - it is a place where students make progress, but in addition develop their character, shaping values in resilience, mindfulness, innovative and employability. Kingsmead sees debut handball teams take national competitions by storm, along with other sporting prowess. Student leadership conferences and national maths challenges are common place, oh and raising over £20,000 through enterprise and it’s very own Inititaives suppporting all families. A school that is innovative, supportive and at its centre considers what is best for its students. Quite simply it is a place where students succeed, validated by Ofsted who say ‘At Kingsmead Students thrive’. Kingsmead is a unique place and well worth a visit. I am proud to be associated with Kingsmead School.
Kingsmead a place where students work and play hard- where will you find a school that has sheep and goats, a zip line, an outdoor learning classroom and inflatables and go Karts...Kingsmead of course. A school where students earn National Theatre Scholarships, perform sell out school shows to wowed audiences. a school where debut teams smash the competition in handball championships, not to mention individuals who hone their skills to represent GB in specialised sports. This if course is just a snippet of what an amazing place Kingsmead is. What is best for students is the key philosophy and it seeks to develop academic success and develop charter. Where else would one students request to learn a song produce an a achapello group that got a standing ovation. Kingsmead focuses on students and seeks to give them the best- Ofsted came and summed it up- Students at Kingsmead thrive - and truly they do. Go see for yourself visit the open evening and see the magic happen. A great place to study, grow and develop.
Kingsmead- a place to learn and grow all in one go :-)
Kingsmead- where students work and play hard. Where will you find a school with animals, zip lines, outdoor learning classroom, community garden and opportunities to develop and hone skills....well look no further than Kingsmead School. A place where students hone their skills and successfully earn National Theatre scholarships, where debuting Handball teams take a championship by storm, where students perform to sell out audiences for shows such as Little Shop of Horrors, not to mention performing Shakespeare. Ofsted came and validated for all to see 'students at Kingsmead thrive' and indeed they do. A school that has the mantra 'What is best for students' matters. A school where student leadership is encouraged. A place where there is character and academic progress made. a school that enhances values that will prepare young people for the future world and where students grow and achieve success. a school that is over subscribed, not to mention developed ways to continue learning despite a pandemic. Don't take my word for this incredible place go see it for yourself- visit on open days and see a hive of learning, enthusiasm and character building in action right from the get go. Kingsmead is truly the place to be.
Cannot recommend this school enough, daughter attends and progress is amazing. Rules are in place for a reason and that’s why most oversubscribed school in staffordshire
Honestly, the best school in the area. The teachers have a strict, yet caring attitude towards their work. They work tirelessly to ensure the pupil's academic success and put on many extracurricular activities in their own time. The headteacher is very proactive with behaviour and I feel very safe whilst my child is at Kingsmead. The Blended Learning Platform is very innovative and has helped my child to progress.
Overall I would definitely recommend the school, the only problem I have is that it is too oversubscribed, so it was a struggle to get my child in.
This school really shows how much they care about the students and their well being. Although we can’t wear bracelets and wear just one ring, this school is always caring about your education. Lessons are very interesting especially science with all the practicals and the room of curiosity! The teachers are all very nice and welcoming to you especially when you’re not feeling 100%.
This school is utterly amazing. I don't think that you would easily find another like it that is state run. My daughter has attended it now for 4 years and has made real progress in so many subjects. Yes they are strict but I feel that this makes her safe, sets boundaries for her and let's her flourish. My daughter loves the school and the teachers who really do care. They actually have animals on site to support well being, well being mentors to help children explore their concerns and incredible specialist teachers in every subject. They investigate thoroughly if there are any issues around bullying and use restorative practice to resolve issues. We hope that our daughter stays on in sixth form so that she has access to the Lyceum society.
Just a lovely, friendly school with very hard working staff.
We chose this school for our child to attend based on the exceptionally high standards of education that children achieve at the school delivered by high quality teachers. My child has barely had a lesson covered in 2 years since joining because of the high focus that they have on specialist staff and this has not been the experience of their friends in other schools. I am proud of my child attending this school and feel sure, just like the other parent that the very people who made these comments are the ones that spoil schools for hard working, diligent and committed children. Luckily at Kingsmead this type of behaviour is not tolerated and children are allowed to thrive in a caring environment where they understand their boundaries. The school achieved incredible progress last year and I feel that this is down to their focus on independent learning and huge variety of enrichment that staff provide in their own time. They even give children a free breakfast to set them up for the day. My opinion is if you don't want these standards for your child give your place to someone who would appreciate it.
This is a brilliant school if you are lucky enough to get into it, it is very oversubscribed. The staff are so caring and always work hard to go above and beyond in all that they do. Yes the expectations are high but that is why we picked it for our daughter. There are several other schools that you can choose if you do not want high academic expectations and caring staff. The extra curricular offer is second to none. If you need to find out more just look at their progress.....Best in area and the amazing OFSTED report.
Kinda bad ngl cause the staff don’t care if you are sick, you have to go in and if you don’t they show up to your house, and or will fine your parents so yh
I don't normally post reviews for things but I feel very strongly about some of the ones I've read and wanted to have my say.
Kingsmead is by far the best school in the area and I feel very lucky that my child goes there. She's currently taking her A levels and is applying to top universities. Fingers crossed! If she gets there - or anywhere else - it's going to be down to the education she got at this school.
I feel that those complaining were almost certainly ones who weren't well behaved. If your focus is being able to wear what you like and do what you please - this isnt' the school for you. The school does have strict rules but they are fair and if everyone follows them it lets you get on with learning. They don't allow mobile phones and I love that. My daughter has friends and they actually talk to each other.
There's loads of clubs and activities and they have a lot of animals on site. It's really lovely when you get to visit the school to see how happy and vibrant the kids are - and really confident too!
The rules at this school are ridiculous. You can only wear one ring on one hand and no bracelets you can’t even wear a hair bobble on your wrist.if you get caught chewing gum then you get an R&R(1hour detention) and have to scrape all the old gum off the bottom of the table. The teachers do nothing about bullying when they try the make it stop it gets worst and only punish the victim and praise the bully. They don’t let you go to the toilet in lesson under any circumstances but at lunch and break they are always crowded also they lock up all off the toilets and only leave the unisex ones open but the e block ones are for girls and boys the they are open.when ofsted came in 2021 the unlocked every toilet but once they left they locked them back up.
Bully s are Cowards who can’t fight their own battles and have to involve others to do it for them. Hate people like this and School should take this very seriously and nip it in the bud .
It's good, but could use major improvement. the canteen is packed at break, the lessons do not engage you and you dont feel ready to learn or even want to learn. the lessons feel like they "drag out" according to my son and that they do not get an adequate amount of time to talk with friends at school. this school introduces new teachers and students and do not care that the number of students and teachers combind has the chance of creating dangerous hallways for the younger years. Bullying disguised as banter is all too common at this school.
School is terrible bullying teachers don’t care specially head of years never take you seriously kids start a fight when they Carnt finish it they run to teachers never listen to your side of story run for the hills
it is an ok school and has improved over the years and has great gcse grades, still has some flaws such as small lunch and break and a lot of chewing gun everywhere but overall a pretty nice school to go to. ✨
Toilets not in good condition. Only a very short breaks for students. School doesn't hardly even deal with racism and bullying only bothered about behavior in class. Cold rooms and school dirty with Covid masks and chewing Gum all over the place.
