Miss de silva can suck my dick if she wants to take 5 months to get me to drop art when I told her it was taking a strong hold on my mental health.kids hate it here and act rashly because of how we are treated, they praise this whole thing about mental health and make us sit in a stuffy, sweaty hall for an hour to listen to some old person tell us about mental health as if we don’t know what it is and then if anyone asks for help they don’t care and take however many months to respond. Teachers are a pisstake and set us shit tons of hw that is so unnecessary to our education and in lessons hardly teach us bc of kids messing about. Lunches are gross; sausage rolls are undercooked, the pizzas are too greasy and are drowned with cheese, cookies are dry, gingerbread men are way too tough and taste like shit, not enough supply of pink omjs, we aren’t put in sets for english so all the underachievers have to sit in a class with a bunch of smart asses that makes them feel like shit cuz they don’t know what a metaphor is. Teachers pick on the quiet dumb kids and flirt with the boys baring in mind they range between the ages of 12-15 MINORS ffs. They go on ab having not enough money for school trips when they could easily make some money off of giving us wear your own clothes days so instead of giving the year tens a school trip when they have had only 1 trip in the whole time of being at klb bc of covid they give it to the year sevens. I also got accused of stealing an oaty cookie from the canteen bc the lady at the till was too blind to see it right infront of her fucking face and they can’t even catch the people who actually steal from the canteen. Don’t put ur kids in klb the school is awful teachers are awful all around trashy
Its alright i guess though they love to change rules very suddenly, like the other person said about the dress code. Foods pretty bad, but tbf most teachers are fairly helpful but they dont really go above and beyond if im gonna be real. Sports is good
The food is not good, which is a big part of the school day. The school obsesses over uniform and “the wrong type of shoe”, “the wrong skirt”, more than the students education. The school doesn’t educate students enough on real life matters. This school talks a lot to the students about there being support systems in place for mentally ill children or people who want to talk, the support received is bad, KLB brushes things under the carpet.
Had pretty awful experiences at klb, lots of bullying and school doesn't handle it well. Focus way too much on attendance rather than mental health and support. Dress code is also awful and seems to change every couple of months without warning.
not to be biased or anything, but the oppression of opinions and personalities is crazy-
i once gave my opinion in a sociology lesson—a lesson made for debate and discussion—and the teacher then had this negative label of me as though I was the problem.
while I was going there we had ‘the house’ which is gonna get knocked down now for the new build, but it’s a very supportive place that helped me a lot with panic attacks and low moments. im grateful to have had that opportunity.
the schools counsellor, suzie, is pretty poor honestly. i tried to see her a total of four times in my final year and each time she told me she was busy or had a meeting and reminded me there was a waiting list (which I had been on for four years by then.)
as a student, it just feels as though the teachers don’t care about what they’re doing and don’t understand what’s actually happening in the students minds; and I’m not saying they should be mind readers, I’d like to meet someone capable of that, it’s just a basic level of self awareness and understanding of real human emotion.
i like maths, miss jones the maths teacher is awesome, science teachers are bomb asf, best teachers you’ll ever meet except for…miss temple…*shivers* anyway, English teachers are lovely (mrs gallivan woop woop! Best teacher), dt teachers are horrifying, you should run and hide if you’re seen walking down the dt corridor.
for any future year sevens reading this, or any parents reading this, just know that in year seven the lunch rooms are segregated by house, your child will be forced to sit alone at lunch during the winters if they don’t have friends in their tutor. (It sucks but I made it and so can you!)
alright I’ll go now, if you go here it’s not like it’s a bad school, it just made me feel bad for the majority of my time there. you’ll get a good education though, so yay.
