i will never ever even if this was the last school on earth my children will never go here. i was put through hell. when you look through the school you see borjen building but more broken students. believe me its not the right school for your kids.
I am writing this review in response to the schools policy of discrimination as to the end of term ‘prom’.
Not all students are academically gifted and although they may try very hard to achieve high grades do not manage it.
Instead of encouraging these students and including them in other activities. The schools policy is to not allow them to attend the school prom.
Further adding to their lack of self esteem.
I think this is a very cruel thing to do.
I think the school should be ashamed of this policy.
Are they not aware that this will affect a child’s confidence for the rest of their life.
And leave a bad impression of the school to the student , their family, friends and everyone that they talk to.
As a student who is currently participating in this school, it is absolutely astonishing the way they deal with mistreated and mental health survivor children. Mr Friend was one of the only teachers who did care, and actually treated the poorly behaved children who he knew were struggling with mental health well. Mr Aucock is one of the most disgusting human beings I've ever met in my life, he's rude, arrogant, and overall just disgusting. He only treats the children who act out to get his attention well, which I think is appalling, and this school needs to be brought in with better staff. Mr Aucock makes empty promises and acts like he will sort things out when in all honesty he doesn't. All the main staff such as Mrs Timpson and Mr Walker are all also disgusting, and treat you awfully. Overall, do NOT send your children here if you want them to survive mentally.
As a student who is going to Imberhorne i feel it is my job to be honest, its a terrible school and most staff are rude and unfair, the head of years are disrespectful and don't support the students at all. students are treated with no respect but are expected to treat staff like royalty, the school is awful when it comes to supporting the students and their needs, as they don't seem to care. The school is dirty and the toilets are disgusting, as well as the staff not understanding how to deal with misbehaving children correctly.
I highly recommend NOT going to Imberhorne as you will regret it, just find somewhere better.
Only gets involved in bullying when parents get involved, teachers are usually decent but a few bad apples. COVID response was pretty lax, instead of punishing students who couldn't be bothered to wear masks they just tell them very nicely to do it next time. School communication is pretty poor too, I understand the constantly changing rules/situation but even so it's pretty appalling. Only real saving grace is the excellent lessons and teachers.
