bulldoze this place, set it on fire whatever. it needs to go. my experience here has been like hell on earth. the teacher don’t care about your mental health, they care more about what your shoes are or what jacket your wearing. do not send your kids here. they will suffer. all i do is get harassed and bullied, and so does everyone else. no matter what you are. You learn absolutely nothing with supply because all the teachers couldn’t stand it, i’m going to fail my exams because of this stupid place. i hate this place. please get me out of here xx
My opinion on Iceni academy so far
I am in year 8 now going up to year 9. Yes you may call me crazy but I have really enjoyed school so far. Yes you do have to put up with a lot of disruption from a few students time and time again but doesn’t every school? Wherever you go no school will have perfect students or amazing quality of the building altogether ( especially if it opened back in the late 1950s). Most members of staff are welcoming, friendly and kind and strict when they need to be to control a class ( you know who you are if you are reading this). And for bullying most people don’t know what to do if you are being bullied because it isn’t very easy to deal with unless you expel the student(s) responsible (which in some cases is a bit dramatic ), but they do the best they can to stop it. Their disciplinary system isn’t the greatest but it does work ( most of the time) and they update it regularly so it does work. Iceni academy is also a very inclusive school and the staff do their best to support people from SEN and LGBTQAI+ etc .I would also like to add before I finish writing that to the person that said about our head of year and them being horrible: they are just doing their job as a teacher and try their best to make school a better place and I know they make a fuss over some small things but rules are there for a reason and you can adapt to find your way around the problems you face. I also have ASD so I get what you are going through so if you know who I am then you can always come and find me at school to talk. Iceni also has amazing lessons and a variety of subjects. Overall an amazing school.
A word of advice.
In the year I have been at this school (I transferred in year 8), there have been 3 headteachers. The school has made empty promises to deal with bullying and many other things. I have bean waiting for an entire year now for observations for an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) assesment/diagnosis and have been constantly told they have dealt with it, yet when I ask the woman in charge of writing it all together, she does not know if she actually has or not. A large amount of only decent teachers have now left, and many teachers are incredibly rude and disrespectful to students. I have witnessed multiple times students receiving a c1, then followed by a c2 for asking why they had a c1, then to be sent out the classroom for no reason whatsoever. My mother recently threatened the school, as I was the victim of a hate crime (I am both gay and transgender), she said that if it was not dealt with she would contact Ofsted, and the police, this is the only time they have ever listened to anyone. The toilets are an absolute disgrace, with toilet paper dispensers empty for the past month, missing from the wall or have swastikas drawn on them and the walls, the food isn't that bad, but could be better. The discipline is atrocious, students who have misbehaved are sent to the library where no one even keeps an eye on them, teachers are either too strict on innocent students or not properly dealing with the disruptive ones. The head of year 8 is a horrible woman, while I do understand she is trying to do her job, that gives her no right to put me under such amounts of pressure it ends up with me having a meltdown/panic attack whilst she tells me I'm going to receive a c3, OVER A PAIR OF GLOVES. Over all, the school is a horrible place to send your child and doing so will cause irreversible affects on your child's mental health.
Bad school
this school is really bad, the teachers don't listen to you and the quality of education is terrible. the kids are unfriendly and the overall environment is not somewhere I want to be. thank god I'm leaving this year, would not recommend this school to anyone.

Horrible school I go there myself behaviour is absolutely atrocious teachers are either really horrible or get bullied and they only focus on the children's who misbehave and the food is absolutely rotten graffiti in the toilets the bullying never stops and will never and stop if you're considering sending your child to Iceni Acedmy Methwold do not send your children their it is a HELL HOLE 🕳 everything is literally Broken or out dated and gum is everywhere and will go on your shoe and the rules are toooooooooo strict and some teachers I witnessed giving A c1 then the person asks why and the get a c2 then sent out the school is a dump

This school is very bad. I was in year 9 and got excluded for telling people to stop bullying me. The teachers only like you if you're a bully. I highly do not recommend this school especially if you are lgbtqia+ or shy or a poc as you will get bullied into suicide.

the teachers dont care how you feel, you are expected to be prim and perfect all the time, you are not allowed to have a bad day.
some teachers arent like that though (there are very few who arent), and are instead really nice.
since i joined the school almost all teachers i knew on the first day have left, almost all of my lessons now i have substitutes and i dont learn anything.
if you have a personal issue, the person you tell never does anything about it, they either say "go tell this teacher about it" or they dont do anything.
we never get to do anything fun here, for most schools, non-uniform days arent that exciting, for us its like christmas, its literally the most exciting thing of the year... getting to wear your own clothes...
i honestly cannot name a single good thing about this school.
