there was a lot of bullying and overall the academics of the school was terrible .there was also harassment reported but they did nothing . there are fights so very often so Im warning you don't go
My daughter is enjoying her time at this school, has some excellent teachers. Homework load is heavier than expected but will probably just take some getting used to. I really appreciate the fact that they don't obsess over the uniform, colour of school bags, colour of coat etc in the way that some other local secondary schools do. The girls are expected to look neat and wear the full uniform but they won't be given a detention if their socks are the wrong length.
Some of the admin and communication could be improved, slightly chaotic messaging which can leave parents a bit confused.
This school has hair in it's food which is absolutely disgusting. There is also alot of disrespectful teachers and students. The teachers can't teach even if there life depends on it. There are racist people in the school and some students are Identifying as cats Overall it's a bad school so don't go.
the outdoor courtyard is nice although they need to improve on preparation for things it’s very confusing eg it’s difficult to find out about if an events going on and all the details - the office staff when parents phone to question don’t know
Teachers also keep leaving especially this year which i don’t know if that’s normal for a secondary school but it means gcse students get delayed and held back
academically good, problems with treatment of students.
i left the school last year after my gcses which i did great in. the teachers are good at what they do and they value students during their gcse years. i enjoyed the academic part of being in the school. however the student support staff really do not value the students wellbeing. when i suffered from self harm they did not make it any easier on me. they treated me like a charity case and just called home about it. bullying is also a major issue in the school and it is not resolved effectively whatsoever. they just sit everyone down and force them to say sorry (obviously not efficient at all). secondary school is a hard time for a lot of young people, but i felt my mental health would’ve been a lot better throughout my 5 years if teachers valued students’ wellbeing more.
You know what! It just gets worse, terrible people running that place, they hate kids, couldn’t care less about them. Just watch if your kids ever get sick you’ll see how disgusting this place is.
when i first came here the school seemed really welcoming and i felt like the school really valued individuality and the ability to express yourself through your work and uniform and etc, hence why the uniform is so relaxed. but i ended up leaving the school earlier this school year because of a few reaons which may have been slightly caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but reasons that haven’t gone away since then. there were no sets, and students weren’t given individual support or challenge in lessons to help them learn, and the behaviour in classrooms is so poor that it means that not much is learnt. the food is overpriced in the canteen and there are still strict line ups every day before school and after break times. the communication with parents is terrible and the poor level of teaching has become even more apparent to me after having left to a school where the students are pushed to achieve. i’ve missed out on lots of learning and have to catch up on things ready for gcse years. overall, i don’t think this school is terrible compared to others in the area, but there is a lot of room for improvement and i wouldn’t recommend it as a school to send your child to.
You definitely have to want to go to a girls school. If you're the right type of person you'll fit in just fine. Compared to other schools nearby it really isn't that bad. It could improve, yes, but overall a good community. If you work hard you will get good grades, I definitely don't think the school stopped me from reaching my full potential. Most of the teachers are really nice and supportive, obviously there are a few bad apples but i would definitely call it a supportive environment.
Used to have a positive spark in it that made it stand out,it organised competitions ,fun trips etc. now its just like any other school or even worse ,the atmosphere got quite toxic and a lot of the good teachers left suddenly apparently cause of the head. It gives out unreasonable detentions and forces kids to stand out in the cold. They hire teachers that call students fat but its not the WORST
They treat your daughters like prisoners. You would think they hated children. They don’t answer your complaints. The teaching is definitely not good. They dole out detentions for everything because they are incompetent in proper procedures with children. They serve up soft drinks and junk food in the canteen. Dogs. We regret sending her here. She hates it. I’ve never seen the head teacher, does she even exist, bad leadership. Do not be fooled by the schools motto that they understand and nurture girls! They do not give a sh.. about them.
Terrible school don’t feed you good food teachers have bad experience terrible they don’t know how to teach they spit in your face when they shout. They look through your phone doesn’t even let us go on them like most secondary schools they most teachers are racist think they can keep us behind when the bell rings for home time DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE THEY WILL GO THROUGH HELL cannot deal with bullying properly environment is disgusting if they can see this do better.
really bad school, leave the students to starve sometimes, they have really expensive prices for their food when they do want to offer it to us, no actual qualified teachers we always have supplies the school DOES NOT care about their students at all
