Good for learning, Bad for living.

While it is true that they push students, and that they are very academic and serve nice food, they do tend to take it quite far with the pushing.
Students as young as Year 2 receive punishments for simply losing their way to their next lesson, and not handing homework set the day before (not even the school I go to did that in Year 11). They have large amounts of homework from a young age, and I have seen the drastic difference between the behaviour and mental health of Homefield boys to, let’s say, Avenue Academy boys. This school clearly only cares about how well their boys do in lessons, for the sake of reputation, and zero regard for their actual wellbeing. To add to that, the school (again, from Year 2) finishes at 4pm! And they have the overloaded homework! When do they have time to have a proper childhood?!
On top of that, at the age of 9, they are learning Year 7 spec. Obviously, the school likes to dazzle potential students (especially the parents) with this ‘avant-guard’ curriculum, but really? Bunsen Burners in Year 3? Really? Proper rugby? Really?! This is clearly now a safeguarding issue too. There is a reason why these types of activities are for Senior school.
Anyways, if you are looking to push your child, then, this is a good school. But for their health and happiness? Absolutely not.
